Two men were taken into custody after a law enforcement pursuit Friday into Warren County.
61 year old Billy Joe Rigsby of Blue Springs Road, Smithville is charged with driving under the influence, reckless endangerment, and evading arrest. He was also cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic. His bond totals $9,000.
Meanwhile 45 year old Adrian Kevin Nelson of Nashville is facing charges of evading arrest and criminal impersonation. He is under a $6,000 bond.
Both men will make a court appearance on June 13.
Sheriff Patrick Ray said that on Friday, May 17 a deputy tried to pull over a red Chevrolet Beretta, driven by Rigsby, that had crossed a double yellow line and was traveling recklessly on both sides of the road. Rigsby initially failed to stop and led the officer on a pursuit into Warren County before finally pulling over. Rigsby told the officer that he had taken xanax and opiates.
Nelson, a passenger, jumped out of the car and tried to escape on foot as Rigsby pulled over. After refusing to heed the officer’s commands to stop, Nelson was taken to the ground by the deputy. Upon being placed under arrest, Nelson gave two different names to identify himself, Frederick Harris and Adrian Dean.
