According to County Fire Chief Donny Green a next door neighbor heard a loud explosion and then saw flames coming from the home.
Members of the Short Mountain Highway, Belk, and Main Stations of the County Fire Department responded along with the tanker truck but were unable to save the structure. Vehicles around the home were also damaged.
The cause of the fire was not determined as of Monday and was under investigation.
