Butch Parkerson

Butch Parkerson age 82 of Liberty died Monday morning, Feb. 28, 2022 at the Webb House in Smithville. Born June 26, 1939, son of the late Walter and Hettie Malone Parkerson, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara Agee Parkerson in 2009. Butch was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish, hunt and raise a huge garden. In his youth, he spent most of his spare time training bird dogs and hunting quail with his best friend Junior Dunham but usually managed to bag a turkey and deer each year. He was also an excellent athlete. He was a baseball pitcher at Liberty High School and played baseball and softball in local leagues for many years. In his later years his favorite pastime was watching his grandson, Landry Williams, play baseball and pitch for the Watertown Purple Tigers. Butch was a long time member of New Hope Baptist Church. He was employed as a construction worker and union member for the majority of his life. He retired from Middle Tennessee Natural Gas in 2001. Butch is survived by his daughter, Ella Parkerson Williams and her husband, Jay; grandson, Landry J. Parkerson Williams; sister, Jean Reasonover; many nieces and nephews including a special niece and caregiver, Donna Lawrence Phillips. Butch was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Dan Parkerson, Shelby Lee Parkerson, Frank Parkerson, James Cordell Parkerson, Odis Parkerson and Alex Parkerson; and sisters, Eva Ray Malone, Maudie Bell Askew, Loretta Clayborn, Evelyn Martin, Lucille Jennings and Lona Fay Lawrence. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2022 at Hunter Funeral Home with Bro. Freddy Curtis and Bro. Ronnie Smith officiating. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and Noon till service time on Thursday. Pallbearers, Landry Williams, Danny Parkerson, Robby Reasonover, Larry Reasonover, Charles Lawrence, Jerry Lawrence, Interment at New Hope Cemetery. Elizabeth “Dib” Ann Reagan, born July 9, 1933 in DeKalb County, left this Earth on February 26 to be reunited with her sweetheart of 69 years, Nathan Coolidge Reagan – who had just gone home to be with the Lord four months ago.

Aside from her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, Barbara Carmean Cantrell Poss and Hershel Poss, and her brother Melvin Poss. She became a resident of Warren County as a child. She and Nathan eloped on Christmas Day of 1952 and returned home to start a family. She was affectionately known as the angel of her large family and she truly loved them more than anything. She adored her grandbabies and was a loving mother figure to all who knew her. She was a faithful Christian woman, devoted wife, and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening, and humming gospel music. She was a longtime member of Newtown the Baptist Church of Christ.

Together Elizabeth and Nathan had eight children Paul (Penny) Reagan, Rita (Tony) Ward, Gina (Joe) Blair, Penny (Carl) Hayes, Darlene (Tommy) Bryant, Hal (Bonnie) Reagan, Lisa (Russell) Mason, and Scott Reagan, who are all residents of Warren County. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren Shawn Reagan, Bobbie Jean Waggoner, Andrew Reagan, Nathaniel Reagan, Joshua Ward, Jenny Norris, Amy Blair, Ashley Giddens, Cody Durham, Callie Hitchcock, Jacob Reagan, Cade Reagan, Evan Chisam, and Erin Watts, several step-grandchildren, as well as 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her siblings Opal Land, Reed Poss, Jane Young, Harold Poss and Donna Young.

Visitation will be held at McMinnville Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 01 from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., and Wednesday, March 02 from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. with funeral services to follow at McMinnville Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M. with her burial following at Newtown Memorial Gardens.

Randall Lee “Rooster” Stamps, age 58 of Smithville, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Saint Thomas Dekalb Hospital.

He was born June 7, 1963 in Crossville, Tennessee. He was the son of Edith Faye Harbison Stamps and the late Dean Stamps Sr. Rooster loved Tennessee football, spending time with his family and loving wife, Southern Gospel music, and taking his mother her coffee every morning. He was a member of Smithville First Free Will Baptist Church, and he loved his church and loved the Lord.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Andrew and Ethel Stamps and Ulysses and Mary Harbison.

Survivors include:

Mother- Edith Faye Stamps of Sparta, TN

Brothers- Jr. Stamps (Charlotte) of Cookeville, TN and Tony Stamps (Michelle) of Rock Island, TN

Father and Mother-in-Law- Bethel and Linda Golden of Smithville, TN

Brother-in-Law- Kernnie Golden of Smithville, TN

Brother and Sister-in-Law- Joey and Jennifer Nokes of Smithville, TN

Several nieces, nephews, friends, neighbors and church family also survive.

Memorial Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Smithville First Free Will Baptist Church with Bro. Andy Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in Young Cemetery. The family will welcome friends on Saturday from 9:00 AM until time of the services at the church.

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Arthur Lee Page, age 88, was born December 20, 1933 and died February 25, 2022 at his residence following an extended illness.

A retired nurseryman, he was the son of the late Wesley and Georgia Merriman Page. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Beatrice Green Page; son, Ricky Page; daughter, Phyllis Roller; granddaughter, Melody Pharris and sister, Hattie Jo Cantrell.

Mr. Page is survived by daughter, Edna Murray of Manchester, TN; son, Audie Page of California; special daughter, Vivian Sinks of McMinnville, TN; special grandchildren, Randy and Paula Roller of McMinnville, TN, Jeff and Heather Hendrix of Winchester, TN, Tracy and Stuart Brown of Smithville, TN, Mark and Sandy Hendrix of McMinnville, TN, Thena Edwards and Tony Fuston of Smithville, TN; Amy Young of McMinnville, TN and Angie and Michael Ellis of Smithville, TN; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Dodson and Faye Jennings, both of McMinnville, TN and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service and interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 28, 2022 at Smyrna Cemetery in Warren County, TN. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery. No service or visitation will be held at High’s.

Edward Joseph Guerin, Jr. age 76 of the Wolf Creek Community of DeKalb County, passed away Thursday, February 17, 2022, at his residence. He was born January 4, 1946, in New York. He was a member of the Wolf Creek Missionary Baptist Church, a former Firefighter, handyman and a U.S. Army Veteran. Ed was preceded in death by his father, Edward Guerin, Sr. and a sister, Patricia Struller. He is survived by son, Justin Edward Sherrell of Cookeville and a sister, Kathleen (Bob) Patch of New Hampshire. The family has chosen a direct cremation. Graveside Memorial Service with Military Honors will be 3 PM Sunday, March 6, 2022 at Mt. Holly Cemetery. There will not be any services or visitation at the funeral home, family and friends will meet at the cemetery for the graveside service at 3 PM. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Frances Lee Turner Thacker age 54 of Dowelltown, passed away Thursday morning, February 24, 2022, at her residence. She was born May 27, 1967, to her parents, the late Richard Paul and Lillie Maude Turner. She was a homemaker. Ms. Frances is survived by her husband, William Thacker of Dowelltown and mother-in-law, Patricia Thacker of Smithville. The family has chosen a direct cremation and no services are planned.
