Danny Marlin Rigsby, Jr.

Danny Marlin Rigsby, Jr. age 56 of Smithville, passed away December 24, 2021 at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro. He was born August 14, 1965 to his parents the late Danny Marlin Rigsby, Sr. and Patircia Ann Bullard Rigsby. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Shenna Jones; grandparents, Jewel Brown “Red” and Elizabeth Rigsby, and Leburn and Mary Bullard; several aunts and uncles also preceded him in death. Mr. Rigsby was a Self-employed Handyman. He is survived by 3 daughters, Tisha (Derick) Barks of McMinnville, Jayna Marli Rigsby of McMinnville, and Morgan Patricia Rigsby of Austin, Minnesota; 6 grandchildren, Raelynne Barks, Katelyn Shields, Kaine Shields, Rayder Crim, Jayda Manzano, and Collin Rigsby; sisters, Kim Patterson of Smithville and Fiance, Matthew Troxell, Theresa Williams of Smithville, Lisa Lillard of Murfreesboro; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survive. The family has chosen direct cremation and a private service will be held later. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.




Robert L. “Bobby” Crook & Wife Dimple Dean Crook

Mr. Robert L. “Bobby” Crook, age 73, passed away on December 22, 2021. Mr. Crook was survived by Sons; Jason (Angel) Crook, Chris (Emily) Crook, and Steve (Tara) Crook. Grandchildren; Caitlyn, Lily, Emma, Eli, and Nick Crook. The family held private graveside services.

Mrs. Dimple Dean Crook, age 67, wife of Robert L. “Bobby” Crook, passed away on December 14, 2021.
Mrs. Crook at the time of her death was survived by her husband; Robert L. “Bobby” Crook. Sons; Jason (Angel) Crook, Chris (Emily) Crook, and Steve (Tara) Crook. Grandchildren; Caitlyn, Lily, Emma, Eli, and Nick Crook. The family held private graveside services.

Wilma Jean Foster

December 28, 2021

Wilma Jean Foster age 79, of Watertown passed away December 27, 2021 at Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital in Lebanon. She was born February 9, 1942 to her parents, the late Clinton and Jessie Tackett Dobbs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Joe Dennis Dobbs and Wayne Thomas Dobbs. Ms. Foster was a Baptist and worked as a Nurse. She is survived by her husband, John W. Foster of Statesville; children: John Anthony Foster of Statesville and Janice Annette Foster of Nashville; grandchildren: Gregorio Nathaniel Cortez, Stephanie Nicole Cortez, Colletta Elayne Coltrin, Brandie Kaleena Foster, Jay Foster, Hunter Wayne Foster; great-grandchildren: Lilliana Marie Cortez-Gaston, Jade Ryan Cortez-Humphreys, Gregorio Nathaniel Cortez, Gabriel Destin Cortez, Cailyn Grace Cortez, Skylar Lee Foster, Chloe Frazier; sisters: Betty Sue Hailey of Manchester and Darlene of Kentucky. Funeral services will be 1 PM Friday December 31, 2021 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Michael Hale officiating and burial to follow in Burton-Ponder Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday 10:00AM until the time of the service at 1:00PM. The funeral home lounge is closed at this time and no food or drinks are allowed in the funeral home. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.




Ernest Edge, Jr.

December 27, 2021

Mr. Ernest Edge, Jr. age 76 of Smithville, TN passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2021 at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Edge was born on June 5, 1945 in Warren County, TN to his parents, the late Ernest, Sr. & Mary Luna Edge. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Troy Edge, Roy Edge & an infant brother. 2 sisters, Paulette Edge & Nelda Sue Edge. He was a factory worker having worked in the maintenance dept. and was a member of Pomeroy Chapel Brethren in Christ Church.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at 2pm from the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Bryan Jones will officiate & burial will follow at DeKalb Cemetery. Visitation with the family will on Tuesday, from 11am until the service time at 2pm.

Survivors include his wife Kathy Bates Edge of Smithville, TN. 3 Children, Patrick (Suzanne) Edge of Dowelltown, TN, Jennifer (Jeff) Keaton of Smithville, TN & Penny Edge of Smithville, TN. 3 Grandchildren. Step Grandson, Corey Turner of Cassville, TN & 4 Step Great Grandchildren. Sister, Vanessa Carol Edge of Murfreesboro, TN & a Sister-in-law, Delores Edge of McMinnville, TN.

Margie Ruth Martin

December 27, 2021

Ms. Margie Ruth Martin, age 68 of Smithville, TN passed away Sunday, December 26, 2021 at her home.

Ms. Martin was born on March 9, 1953 in Woodbury, TN to her parents, the late Les & Eula Mae Thomas Estes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Brown Martin. Ms. Martin was a Nursery Worker and was of the Baptist faith.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at 2pm from the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Banks Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, from 1pm-8pm & on Wednesday, from 9am until the service time at 2pm.

Survivors include her Sons, Jimmy Martin & David Martin both of Smithville, TN. Grandsons, Gregory Martin & Gaven Martin both of Smithville, TN. Nephew, James Estes of Smithville, TN and a Special Friend, Shelia Gaw of Smithville, TN.

Ricky Delano Adcock

December 24, 2021

Ricky Delano Adcock age 63 of Smithville, passed away Wednesday night December 22, 2021 at his residence. He was born August 6, 1958 to his parents, the late Franklin and Faye McCormick Adcock. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Adcock and 2 sons, Chris and Brian Adcock. He worked at Carrier for many years and currently worked at Smithport Cabinetry. He was saved. Ricky is survived by lifelong partner, Donna Gann of Smithville; brother, Derwin (Beth) Adcock of Smithville; several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. Funeral services will be 1:PM Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel and burial will follow in Corinth Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday 4:PM until 7:PM and Tuesday 10:AM until the time of the service at 1:PM. The funeral home lounge is closed at this time and no food or drinks are allowed in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Smithville First Freewill Baptist Church Building Fund, in memory of Ricky. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
