Sharon Kaye Truett Ausbrooks

61 year old Sharon Kaye Truett Ausbrooks of Watertown died Thursday at Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital. She was born in Birmingham, Alabama to Clyde Truett and Sarah Faye Purser. Ausbrooks was a member of the Liberty Hill Presbyterian Church. Her parents preceded her in death. She was a machine operator for Sheppards Specialty Papers of Watertown. Survivors include her husband, Terry Phillips of Watertown. A daughter, Devon Truett of Watertown. Grandchildren, Adrian Simmons, Jr and Jaythan Truett of Watertown. Sisters and brother, Nancy Stanley of Prosperity, Clyde Jr. and Connie Truett of Gallatin and Rhonda and Dennis Bass of Alexandria. Nieces, Paige Bass, Alesha “Nikki” Bass, and Makenna Lomas. The family has chosen cremation. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria is in charge of the arrangements.




Charlotte Teresa Macey

Charlotte Teresa Macey age 78 of Smithville passed away Wednesday August 12, 2020 at her son’s residence in Smithville. She was born December 16, 1941 to her parents the late Chester and Charlotte Wolford Martin. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Macey; and her grandparents. She worked several years at S & W Mfg. and worked at the Senior Center. She is survived by her children, Woodrow (Beverly) Burns of Florida; Kimberly Baker of Liberty, and Robert Macey of Smithville; grandchildren, Michelle, Valerie, Nichole, Monica, Ryan, and Little Woody Burns; several great- grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren; brothers, Chet (Lynn) Martin, and Joel (Sue) Martin; host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; good friend Pam; and loving neighbors, The Adcock’s. The family has honored Ms. Charlotte’s request to be cremated and no public services are planned. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.




Mary “Libby” Elizabeth Hale

Mary “Libby” Elizabeth Hale age 57,of Dowelltown passed away Monday morning at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital. She was born November 6, 1962 to her parents the late Willie “Sheep” Eugene and Jessie Vada Atnip Thomas. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Dean Thomas; brother, Jackie Eugene Thomas. Mary worked in factories and was affiliated with Dowelltown Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Mark Hale of Dowelltown; daughters, Sarah Thomas and her partner, Casey McElfresh of Kentucky, Jessica (Andy) Pack of Smithville, and Sabrina (Jordon) Melton of Dowelltown; grandchildren, Ella, Ava and Briar Pack, Jay Austin Melton; sister Mary Lou (Danny) McGuire of Smithville; brother, Jessie (Rhonda) Thomas of Smithville; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be Thursday August 13, 2020 at 1:PM with Bro. Richard Williams officiating and burial to follow at Hale Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday August 12, 2020 at 4:PM until 7:PM and Thursday 10:AM until the time of the service at 1:PM. Due to the COVID-19, the Governors Executive Orders 38 and Social Distancing Guidelines; Our pews in the Chapel are marked off to respect the guidelines and allow approximately 100-125 people for the service, we ask for the health and safety of everyone that you please exercise Social Distancing. The Funeral Home Lounge is Closed and NO Food or Drinks are allowed in the funeral home. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.




Deloris Darnell Hutchings

Deloris Darnell Hutchings age 51 of Smithville passed away at her residence Saturday August 8, 2020. She was born January 4, 1969 to her parents Edward “Buck” and Janie Barnes Hutchings. She was preceded in death by her twin brother, Jamie Douglas Hutchings; grandparents, Everett and Louise Hutchings and Herman and Vella Barnes; many aunts and uncles also preceded her in death. Ms. Hutchings worked at Prospect and was a homemaker, was also affiliated with The Freewill Baptist Church. She is survived by her parents, Edward “Buck” and Janie Hutchings of Smithville; brothers, Donathan (Kelly) Hutchings of AL, and Jonathan (Tina) Hutchings of McMinnville; sister Janet (Joey) Nichols of Celina; niece and special caregiver, Kelly (John) Licht of McMinnville; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts and uncles and many friends also survive. Funeral service will be 11:AM Wednesday August 12, 2020 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Michael Hale, Bro. Donald Haggard and Bro. Wendell Judkins officiating and burial to follow in Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday August 11, 2020 4 PM until 7 PM and Wednesday August 12, 2020 10:AM until the time of the service at 11:AM. Hassie Charlotte Craddock

Ms. Hassie Charlotte Craddock, age 80 of Smithville passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at St. Thomas Hospital West in Nashville.

Ms. Craddock was born December 20, 1939 in Walling, TN to her parents, the late Noah & May Roberts Ursery. Also preceding her in death is her Husband, Loye Craddock, a Daughter & Son, Lorena Collier & Loyd Craddock & several Brothers & Sisters. She was retired from Federal Mogul and was of the Baptist faith.

A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at 1pm at the Old Philadelphia Cemetery in Walling, TN. Bro. Dan Gulley will officiate. There will be no visitation held at the funeral home. Family and friends will gather at the cemetery just prior to the 1pm service.

Survivors include a Daughter, Judy McBride of Smithville. 2 Grandchildren, Marlana Quick of Nashville & Regena (Randy) Pedigo of Smithville. Great Grandchild, Addison. Sister, Myrtle Hardway of Ohio.

Billy King Stone

Billy King Stone age 89 of Long Creek Community in Macon County, TN passed away Thursday evening, August 6th, 2020 at Hendersonville Medical Center.

Private Graveside Services for Billy King Stone will be conducted from the Macon County Memorial Gardens in Lafayette with Brother Harold King officiating.

Family requests memorials be made to the Macon County Terminal Illness Fund. You may make these memorial by calling or coming by the Funeral Home.

He is preceded in death by wife Bonnie Howser Stone, Father Frank Stone and mother Lula Mae Bass.

He is survived by son, Terry and wife Jennifer Stone of Duluth, Georgia, daughter Jill Stone Wallace of Lafayette, grandsons; Adam and Cody Wallace, granddaughter, Nora Stone, sisters; Mary Bailey of Alexandria, and Bobbie Fite of Lebanon, brothers; Joe and Ernest Stone all of Smithville.
