Louise Keyt Frazier

Louise Keyt Frazier, 101, of the Dry Creek Community, Dowelltown, passed from this life to her heavenly home on Monday, January 7, 2019.

Louise was born July 2, 1917, in Spencer, TN, to the late Rev. Widney Garfield and Elizabeth Ladd Keyt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Wilson Frazier; two sons and a daughter-in law, John Larry (Billie Ann) and Joe Ronald “Ronnie” Frazier; grandson, Joe Ronald Frazier II; great grandson Ryan Frazier; grandson –in –law Jonathan M. Kennedy; sister, Alma (Charles) White; three brothers, Lloyd, Charles (Willow Dean), and W.C. Keyt; sister-in-law, Virginia Keyt; and in-laws, Jim (Lona) Frazier, Roy (Claudie) Frazier, Anna Rhea (Greely) Washer, Gertrude (Trevor) Jordan, and Nettie Jim (Bernice) Edge.

She is survived by five daughters, Judy (Jimmy) Kimbrell, Peggy (Dr. Carroll) Thomas, Deborah (Wayne “Buddy”) Fuson, Kathy (Ricky) Hendrix, and Lisa (Jerald) Cripps; twelve grandchildren, Dr. Barbara Gail Frazier (Todd Nuckels), Dr. Bruno (Geri) Frazier, Henry (Dr. Natalie) Frazier, Monica (David) Reynolds, Dr. W. Joshua Frazier-Thomas, Jennifer Fuson, Jeffrey (Meg) Fuson, Michele (Todd) Kent, Dr. Jared (Jennifer) Hendrix, Matthew (Melody) Cripps, Jordan (Nicole) Cripps and Dr. Justin (Tiffany) Cripps; daughter-in-law, Rita Fuson-Frazier; twenty-seven great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; a brother, James “Jimmy” Keyt, two sister-in-law’s, Antha Smith Keyt, and Marion Keyt; and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins.

Louise was a life-long educator whose career spanned 35 years as a teacher, principal, and school librarian. She was elected President of her senior class at DeKalb County High School in 1936 and subsequently graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master of Education in Library Science. She was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Honorary Teachers’ Society and the TN Retired Teachers’ Association.

She was a faithful member of the Dry Creek Baptist Church since her marriage and subsequent move to the Dry Creek Community in 1939. Louise served the Lord many years as a Sunday school teacher, WMU leader, and treasurer.

Louise was also a member and office holder of the Royal Order of the Eastern Star in Liberty, and a columnist for the Smithville Review.

The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Dr. Jack Rhody and the staff at the Family Medical Center, Fay Adkins, Matilda Earl, Estelle Ferrell, Nora Harvey, Gail Thompson, Rosea Young, Suncrest Home Health, and Avalon Hospice personnel for their professional care.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, January 11, 2pm at the Dry Creek Baptist Church with Bro. Donald Owens and Bro. Kenneth Tramel officiating and burial following at DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be from 2 pm till 8 pm at DeKalb Funeral Chapel on Thursday, January 10th, and Friday, January 11th from 11 am until the time of the service at 2 pm at the church. There will be an Eastern Star Service held Thursday night at 7 PM at DeKalb Funeral Chapel.

Gary Lane Hale

January 7, 2019

Gary Lane Hale age 45 of Sparta passed away Thursday January 3, 2019 at his residence. He was born September 25, 1973 to his parents, the late Burnice Hale and Nettie Brown Goodwin Hale. He was a factory worker and a member of Indian Creek Baptist Church. Graveside service will be held 3:30PM Tuesday January 8, 2019 at Whorton Springs Cemetery with Bro. Ricky Scott officiating. No public visitation will be held family and friends will meet at the cemetery for graveside. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by son Gary Lane Hale, II. Survivors include his wife: Dawn Hale of Sparta; 3 children: Jessica Betancur of McMinnville, Matthew Hale of Sparta, Nathaniel Hale of Columbia; Grandchildren: Cilia Lina Betancur, Logan Betancur, DeAngelo Betancur, Damian Betancur; Several aunts, uncles and cousins; Father-in-law and Mother-in-law: Al & Donna McManus of McMinnville; Brother-in-law: Alan (Michelle) McManus of Liberty; Niece: Jessica Anderson. Jeffrey Fitzgerald George

Jeffrey Fitzgerald George age 53 of Alexandria died Friday morning, Jan. 4, 2019 at Tennova Healthcare in Lebanon. Born April 16, 1965, he was the son of Dorothy Cook George and the late Emmett Lee George. Jeff was preceded in death by his two brothers, Joel and Michael George; an infant son and a great nephew; step-father, Clyde Wooden and his grandparents, Roy and Hazel Cook of Smithville and Arthur and Pearl George of Alexandria. Jeff is survived by his wife, Billie Bozarth George, daughter, Jessica Claridy and his mother, Dorothy George all of Alexandria; 6 nieces and 4 nephews; a special aunt, Brenda Cook and several other aunts and uncles. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019 at Hunter Funeral Home with Bro. David Revelle and Bro. Chris Long officiating. Brent Foster

January 5, 2019

Brent Foster passed away on January 4, 2019 at age 76. The family will be receiving friends at Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon TN, on Monday from 1-8 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. The Funeral Service is 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2019 in the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home. Interment in DeKalb County Memorial Gardens will follow the service. Family and friends will serve as Pallbearers.

Mr. Foster taught math and general science at Lebanon High School from 1963 until 1976 and was Guidance Counselor from 1966-1974. He had also served as a Testing Coordinator and Attendance Supervisor for Wilson County. He was Superintendent of Wilson County from 1976-1984, Mt. Juliet Guidance Counselor from 1984-1992 and Attendance Supervisor for Wilson County from 1992 until he retired in 1999 with 36 years of service to the Wilson County community. Mr. Foster was County Commissioner “Squire” from 1970-1974. He was to date the most successful baseball coach in Lebanon High School history with approximately 259 wins to 52 losses, 6 Baseball District Titles, 4 Baseball Divisional Titles, 3 MTIT Championships, and the induction into the Inaugural LHS Sports Hall of Fame in 2007.

Mr. Foster is survived by his wife of 55 years, Cheryl Evins Foster, daughter Michele Carson, grandchildren Brady Foster, Eli Carson, Micah Carson, and Kiah Carson, siblings Michael (Wanna) Foster and Ricky (Stephanie Rhodes) Foster, and several nieces and nephews including Kelli Foster Bullard and Lee Foster. He is preceded in death by son John Richard Foster, parents James Richard and Mary Alice Foster, and grandparents Elbridge Kiah, Bonnie Puckett, and Julius and Etta Foster.

Charles Donald Page

January 5, 2019

Charles Donald Page age 72 of Smithville, passed away Friday, January 4, 2019 at his residence. He was born March 30, 1946 to his parents, Charlie Buck and Mina Belle Hale Page. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Junie Lee Page; 4 sisters, Judy Bullard, Martha Sue Page, Lois Hamilton, Nina Faye Wicks; 1 brother, Robert Page. Mr. Page was a member of the Harvest Time Church, a Merchant Marine and a heavy equipment construction worker. He is survived by his wife, Deborah I. Page of Smithville; 2 sisters, Kathy Cantrell of Smithville and Carolyn Miller of Sparta; 1 brother, Jerry Page of McMinnville; special nephews, Richard Bullard, Steve Page and Victor Hamilton and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11:AM Tuesday, January 8, 2018 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Wendell Judkins officiating and burial will follow in DeKalb Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Monday 2 PM until 8 PM and Tuesday 9 AM until the time of the service at 11 AM. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.




Nina Cantrell Clark

January 5, 2019

Nina Cantrell Clark, age 79, passed away January 3, 2019 at NHC Place at Cool Springs. She was born in Smithville, TN and has lived in Murfreesboro since 1972. She received her masters degree from Middle Tennessee State University in 1967. She taught school in the Nashville School System from 1963-1969. Nina was a member of the Methodist faith. She devoted her life to her family and was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

Nina was preceded in death by her parents, Alden and Willadean Estes Cantrell; and brother, Phillip Cantrell. She is survived by her husband, Charles Clark; son, Phil (April) Clark of Brentwood; daughter, Emily(Paul) Joyce of Franklin; sister, Nancy Estes of Nashville; grandchildren, Jack Joyce, Braeden Clark, Lily Joyce, Grant Clark and Willa Claire Clark; and nephew, Houston (Hays) Estes.

Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 PM, Monday, January 7, 2019 at Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home.

Chapel service will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Jennings and Ayers. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
