Rena “Dinky” Adcock

Rena “Dinky” Adcock age 89 of Smithville passed away Friday, October 27, 2023, at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital. She was born July 13, 1934, to her parents the late Rev. Silas and Elise Staggs Luna. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 son, Myron Adcock; brother, Buford Luna; sisters, Leona Roberts, Jamie Luna, and Earlene McCormick. She was a member of Taylor’s Providence Freewill Baptist Church, retired from Kingston Timers and for D.C.H.S. as a Cafeteria Worker. She is survived by 2 sons, Tim “Rock” Adcock of Dowelltown and James Richard Adcock of Sparta; grandchildren, Brandon Adcock of Murfreesboro, Myronika Franklin of Sparta; great-grandchildren, Laila Marie Adcock, Audrey Claire Adcock, Conner Allen Adcock, Charis Franklin, Cora Frankin, Asher Franklin, and Everett Franklin; brother, Danny Luna of Lebanon; sister Ovean Phifer of Sparta. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 30, 2023, at 3:00PM at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Michael Hale officiating and burial to follow in Taylors Providence Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, October 30, 2023, at 11:00AM until the time of the service at 3:00PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to DeKalb Funeral Chapel to help with funeral expenses. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.




Billy Eudean Pack

Billy Eudean Pack age 66 of Smithville passed away Friday morning, October 27, 2023 at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro. He was born June 6, 1957 to his parents, the late Billy Jack Pack and Virginia Mai Adcock Daniel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Douglas Pack; sister, Regina Pack and nephew, Brian Pack. He attended the Smithville Church of God and was a heavy equipment operator. He is survived by his wife, Tamie Pack of Smithville; 2 sons, Christopher Pack and Derek (Cora) Pack both of Smithville; 4 grandchildren, Austin, Vivian, Everett and Douglas Pack; 1 brother, Darrell Pack of Smithville; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roy Lee and Melba Pedigo of Smithville; 2 sisters-in-law, Debra (Miles) Malone of Liberty and Suzanne Pedigo of Smithville; 2 brothers-in-law, Carl (Becky) Pedigo and Scott Pedigo both of Smithville; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be 3PM Sunday, October 29, 2023 with Bro. Chris Moore and Bro. Andy Estes officiating and burial will follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be on Sunday 10:AM until the time of the service at 3 PM. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.




Donna Gayle Cope

October 27, 2023

Mrs. Donna Gayle Cope, age 62, passed away on Friday morning, October 27, 2023 at Willow Branch in Warren county. She was a homemaker and became a Christian at Calvary Baptist Church was baptized there years ago.

She was born on June 3, 1961 in McMinnville, TN. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Sullivan husband, Tim Cope and brother, Bernie Sullivan.

Visitation with the Cope family will be on Monday, October 30 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm and on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 from 9:00 until service time at 11:00 am at Love-Cantrell Chapel. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery in Warren county.

Survivors include 1 son, Clint (Lakota) Cope, 4 grandchildren, Leauna Cullum, Bethany Dillion, Emmitt Hale and Abigail Hale, mother, Gayle Hill, 2 nephews, Ryan (Jennifer) Sullivan and Matthew Sullivan all of Smithville, great nieces and nephews, Emily Sullivan of Woodbury, Hannah Sullivan of Bradyville, Austin Sullivan of Centertown, Jonathan (Emily) Caldwell of VA and sister-in-law, Kandy Fish of Smithville.

The family has asked in lieu of flowers that donations please be made to Love-Cantrell Funeral Home to help with funeral arrangements.




Eugene LaFever

October 27, 2023

Mr. Perry Eugene LaFever, age 48, passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at his residence in Warren County. He was a self-employed audio engineer and attended Lighthouse Church.

He was born on September 13, 1975 in Smithville, TN to his parents, UL & Helen Perry LaFever who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Dana LaFever.

Visitation with the family will be on Sunday, October 29, 2023 from 11:00 am to the service time at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Doug Dillard will officiate and burial will follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be to the Warren County High School Choir in memory of Eugene.

Survivors include one daughter, Sahara “Sara Beth” LaFever of Knoxville, 3 aunts, Sue (Jimmy) Bryson of Old Hickory, Louisa Phelps of Antioch and Merle Sandlin of Smithville. Special family, Kennette Dixon of McMinnville, McKenna and Justin Proffitt of Lebanon and Allie and Tyler Morton of McMinnville.

Kenneth V. Vincent, Jr.

October 24, 2023

Kenneth V. Vincent, Jr. of Smithville, age 49, passed away Saturday evening, October 14, 2023, at his residence. He was born June 5, 1974, to his late father, Kenneth Vernon Vincent, Sr. and his mother, Vickey White Milligan. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ozie and Earl Vincent, Kenneth White, Earsie Cherry, and Tommy Cherry. Mr. Vincent served in the United States Army, he also worked in Welding and Concrete finishing. He is survived by his wife, Julie Vincent of Smithville; 3 children, Ray (Brittany) Vincent, Amanda (Drake) Clouse, and Seth (Kayla) Vincent all of Smithville; 5 grandchildren, Cayden, Jerrel, Maverick, Rylan, and Kingston; mother, Vickey (Kenny) Milligan of Smithville; brother, Josh (Tracey) Vincent of Smithville; sister, Terika Faux of Smithville; sister-in-law, Amanda Ford of Smithville; nieces and nephews, Karah Jo, Hagen, and Ellie; and several other nieces and nephews also survive. The family has honored Kenneth’s request to be cremated and a Memorial Service will be held 4:30PM Friday, October 27, 2023, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Sam Allen officiating and Military Honors will be conducted by the Veterans Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to DeKalb Funeral Chapel to help with funeral expenses. Bobbie Spencer Ervin

Bobbie Spencer Ervin, age 92, of Smithville, passed away Thursday night October 19, 2023 at NHC Healthcare in Smithville. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Her primary occupation was mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker, which she fulfilled with beauty and grace. Bobbie loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren dearly. Her greatest joy was her family. She was preceded in death by her husband James M. Ervin; parents: W.J. Spencer and Stepmother Barbara Close Spencer. She is survived by her daughters: Jane (Vester) Parsley of Smithville, Alice (Aubrey) Moseley of Murfreesboro. She is also survived by her five grandchildren: John Parsley of Smithville, Rebecca Troxell (Levi) of Manchester, Sarah Sheets, Julie Wolfe and Rachel Peters (Kyle) of Murfreesboro; two great-grandchildren: Mason Peters and Elizabeth Sheets. Funeral services for Bobbie will be private. She will be laid to rest at DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Expression of sympathy may be expressed at www.dekalbfuneralchapel.com. A special thank you to the staff at NHC for the excellent care Bobbie has received over the last eleven years. The family was truly blessed to have such caring people looking after her and will always be grateful for the excellent health care that was given.
