Derwin Mac Adcock

On February 1, 2023, Derwin Mac Adcock, age 59, seen Jesus and is now kicking up gold dust with loved ones in Heaven. He was born December 8, 1963, to his parents the late Franklin and Fay McCormick Adcock. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Ricky Adcock; sister-in-law, Wilma Adcock; nephews, Chris and Bryan Adcock. He served 33 years in law enforcement and retired from McMinnville Police Department in December 2018. He was a member at Smithville First Freewill Baptist Chruch and was an avid fisherman. He is survived by his loving wife, Beth Adcock; sister-in-law, Veronica (Jeff) Baker; honorary daughters, Kali Page (Jacob Williams) and Kara (Luke) Hillis; honorary grandchildren, Haven and Hyatt Smithson and Dayton Hillis; special friend, Dave Brown; many cousins, aunts and uncles also survive. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Sunday, February 5, 2023 at Smithville First Freewill Baptist Chruch with Bro. Andy Patterson officiating and burial to follow in Corinth Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday 1PM until 7PM and Sunday 10:AM until 12:30 PM at DeKalb Funeral Chapel . The family will receive friends at Smithville First Freewill Baptist Church Sunday 1PM until the time of the service at 2PM. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Smithville First Freewill Baptist Church Building Fund in memory of Derwin. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.




Roger Dale Page

February 3, 2023

Roger Dale Page age 66, passed away Thursday February 2, 2023 at his residence in Smithville. He was born October 3, 1956 to his parents the late Brown and Roberta Stewart Page. Mr. Page was a Factory and Construction worker. He is survived by sisters, Debbie (Roy) Colwell of Murfreesboro, Sharon Colwell of Smithville; nieces and nephews, Chris (Tasha) Colwell of Smithville, Jeremy (Patricia) Colwell of Cookeville, and Amanda (Nelson) Adcock of Murfreesboro; great nieces and nephews, Eli, Emily, Bentlee Colwell and Jadence and Aidan Colwell; special friend, Allen Knowles. A visitation will be held Saturday February 4, 2023 at 2:PM until 4:PM at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. The family ask that donations be made to DeKalb Funeral Chapel to help with funeral expenses. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.




Jimmy Johnson

Jimmy Johnson age 77, of Smithville, passed away Sunday night, January 29, 2023, at St. Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville. He was born June 8, 1945, to his parents the late, Grover and Lydia Hale Johnson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Jeff Johnson; and brother, Eugene Johnson. Jimmy was a member of Mt. Pisgah Freewill Baptist Church and a Construction Contractor. He is survived by his wife, Dean Johnson of Smithville; sons, Bobby (Angela) Johnson, and Jason Johnson both of Smithville; grandchildren, Ian and Alexis Johnson, Isabella Johnson, Garrett and Makayla Johnson, Kasen Johnson, and Lydia Johnson; great-grandchild, Waylon Johnson; sister, Melba (Carlon) Graham; brother, Joe (Marie) Johnson. Funeral services will be 1:PM Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Bernard Houk officiating and burial will follow in DeKalb Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday 3:PM until 8:PM and Wednesday 10:AM until the time of the service at 1:PM. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.




Kenneth Wayne Pack

January 25, 2023

Mr. Kenneth Wayne Pack, age 75 of Chapel Hill, TN, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center in Smyrna. He was a former salesman with American Battery.

He was born on October 17, 1947 in Smithville to his parents, the late Grady and Dura Cornett Pack.
Funeral services will be on Friday, January 27 at 1:00 pm from the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home with Bro. Jason Lohorn officiating. Visitation with the Pack family will be on Thursday from 11:00am to 8:00pm and on Friday from 11:00am until the funeral service at 1:00pm.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Nancy Cantrell Pack of Chapel Hill; 3 children, Terry Pack of Chapel Hill, Nikki (Jason) Lohorn of Liberty and Adam (Amy) Pack of Eagleville; 6 grandchildren, Paige (Bryan) McDowell of Cincinnati, Ally (Austin) Mobley of Blue Ash, Ohio, Hannah Lohorn of Liberty, and Asher, August & Adalyn Pack all of Eagleville; 1 great-grandson, Colton McDowell of Cincinnati; 3 brothers, Donnie Pack of Florida, Jerry (Teresa) Pack of Livingston and Mike Pack of Cookeville; 1 sister-in-law, Dorothy (Charles) Scott of Lebanon; 1 brother-in-law, Charles (Betty) Cantrell of Smithville; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Jo Dean Cathcart

January 23, 2023

Jo Dean Cathcart age 92 of the Snow Hill Community and for the last several years, she had resided with her daughter and son-in-law in Murfreesboro. She was born June 24, 1930, to her parents, the late Clarance Napoleon and Era Sedella Smith Atnip. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Cathcart; daughter, Vivian Ann Cathcart and sister Jo Nell Judkins. She worked as a secretary and then the shirt factory and was a homemaker. Ms. Jo Dean was a member of the Snow Hill Baptist Church where she served as the Treasurer for many years. She enjoyed working in her flowers and gardening. She leaves to cherish her memory, 1 daughter, Vicky (Stephen) White of Murfreesboro; 2 grandchildren, Stephanie (Aaron) Lawrence of Murfreesboro and Daniel (Jessica) White of Springfield; 4 great-grandchildren, Kirsten and Lucas Averette, Logan and Carly Lawrence; niece, Jackie Ray of Smithville. Funeral services will be 1 PM Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bros. Steve Puckett and Michael Hale officiating and burial will follow in Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Monday 4 PM until 7 PM and Tuesday 11:AM until the time of the service at 1 PM. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.




Zachariah Drennan

Zachariah Drennan, 2 month old son of Nicholas & Cheyenne Drennan, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023 at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville.

Zachariah was born on October 26, 2022 in McMinnville, TN.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 23, 2023 at 1pm from the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Chad Ramsey and Sam Scavo will officiate and burial will follow at the Crabtree Family Cemetery in Rickman, TN. Visitation with the family will be held on Monday, from 10am until the time of the service at 1pm.

He is preceded in death by his Paternal Grandmothers, Gayle Drennan & Alma Drennan. Paternal Great Grandmother, Gloria Taylor & Paternal Great Grandfather, Larry Winningham. Paternal Aunt, Margie Drennan. Maternal Great Great Grandmothers, Joann Downs, Edith Crabtree & Nell Hammock. Maternal Great Great Grandfathers, Willie Crabtree, JL Winningham & Dorma Garrett.

Survivors include his parents, Nicholas (Cheyenne) Winningham Drennan of Rickman, TN. Siblings, Xander, Xyla & Xayden Drennan all of Rickman, TN. Paternal Grandparents, Amanda (Jason) Winningham of Rickman, TN & David Drennan of Smithville, TN. Maternal Grandparents, Curtis Winningham of Hilham, TN & Shannon (Harry) Brooks of Lebanon, TN. Paternal Great Grandparents, JR Drennan of TX, Kenneth (Debbie) Lattimore of Smithville, TN & Barbara Winningham of Hilham, TN.
