Linda Parker

Mrs. Linda Parker, age 71, of Smithville, TN passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at St. Thomas Rutherford.

Mrs. Parker was born on March 26, 1951 in King William’s Town, South Africa to her parents, the late Clarence and Stella Jepson. She was in the Marketing and Human Resource Department of Federal Mogul where she retired. The family has honored Mrs. Linda’s wishes of cremation.

Survivors include her husband Euan Parker of Smithville; stepchildren, Michael Parker of Wyoming and Lesley Leach of Yorkshire, England; 2 grandchildren, Thomas Leach of London, England and Rebecca Leach of Cornwall, England; a host of friends, who she loved like family, also survive. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.




Vickie Lynn Dyal

December 15, 2022

Vickie Lynn Dyal age 55, of Smithville passed away at her residence December 14, 2022. She was born May 24, 1967 to her parents Carl Eugene and Valletta Arlene Keene Brown. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sister, Teresa Mustain. She was a member of Northside Church of Christ and was a Homemaker. She is survived by husband, Kenny Dyal of Smithville; children, Amanda (Chad) South of Smyrna, Jessica Dyal of Smithville, Kenny Waymon Dyal, JR. of Smithville, Joshua (Cheyenne) Dyal of Smithville; 13 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; siblings, Liz (Junior) Hillis of Viola, Anna (Junior) Redd of FL, Terrell (Inez) Reed of Ky. Terry (Barb) Reed of FL., Darrell, Larry and   Junior Reed all of FL.; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held Monday December 19, 2022 at 1:00PM at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in DeKalb Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday10:00AM until the time of the service at 1:00PM. The family ask that donations be made to help with the funeral expenses. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.




Tony Alan Williams

December 14, 2022

Mr. Tony Alan Williams age 61 of Smithville, TN passed away Monday morning, December 12, 2022 at St. Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville, TN.

Tony was born on December 7, 1961 in Knoxville, TN to his parents, the late Ronald & Betty Williams. Also preceding him in death is his wife, Kippy Williams, 2 brothers and a sister. He was a Truck Driver for Averitt Express and attended Indian Creek Baptist Church. Tony was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing, camping and even tried his hand at rodeo for a while. Tony dearly loved his church family.

Graveside services and interment will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at 1pm at Whorton Springs Cemetery. Bro. Mike Carpenter will officiate. There will be no visitation held at the funeral home. Family & friends will gather at the cemetery just prior to the services.

Survivors include his best friend, Ms. Jo Doris Adcock of Smithville, TN and a host of friends at Indian Creek Baptist Church.

David Gene Satterfield “Elmo”

December 12, 2022

Mr. David Gene Satterfield “Elmo”, age 45, of Weidman, Michigan formerly of Smithville, TN passed from this life into the eternal rest of his loving Savior on Friday, December 9, 2022 following an extended illness.

He was born September 18, 1977 to his parents, Jamie Lankford and the late Kenneth Leon Satterfield. He was preceded in death by his best friend, Joshua Bryan Caldwell.

Survivors include his loving wife, Denise Faulman Satterfield, of Weidman, Michigan; stepchildren, Blair Vollmer and Nicholas Schultz; grandchild, Alyssandra Schultz; mother, Jamie Lankford of Smithville and brother, Allen Satterfield of Smithville.

He was a very devoted husband, son, brother, and a very true friend to many. He will be forever missed and will be forever remembered. Go rest high on that mountain my love.

Family has chosen direct cremation and a memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Ethelene Pedigo

December 12, 2022

Mrs. Ethelene Pedigo, age 85, of Smithville, TN passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at her residence.

Mrs. Pedigo was born on April 23, 1937 in Smithville, TN to her parents, the late Bethel and Beatrice Green Cantrell. Also preceding her in death was her daughter, Melanie Faith Pedigo and her sister, Treva White. She was a former worker at Genesco and loved to crochet. Mrs. Ethlene prepared the church bulletin weekly for the Smithville Church of God where she was a lifetime and faithful member.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December, 13, 2022 at 2pm from the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Chris Moore will officiate with burial following at DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday from 10am until the service time at 2pm.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years, J.D. Pedigo of Smithville; brother-in-law, W.J. White of Smithville; nephews, Mark (Gina) White of Gallatin, Paul White, David White, Thomas (Tammy) White, Tim (Tiny) Pedigo, Glen (Melody) Pedigo, and Russell (Dava) Pedigo all of Smithville; special caregivers and family, Lacey Duke and Eva Cubbins both of Smithville; Several great nieces, nephews, and friends also survive. She will be sorely missed by Bella, her ever-present maltipoo companion.

In addition to flowers, the family has requested that donations can be made to Emma’s Kids (affiliation of the Smithville Church of God).

John Stoglin

December 10, 2022

John Stoglin age 70 of Smithville passed away Wednesday December 7, 2022, at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital ER. He was born January 3, 1952, to his parents, Bonnie Summers and the late, Kenneth Stoglin. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by grandson, Jathan Craven and brother, Mike Stoglin. Mr. Stoglin was a Baptist and a retired construction worker. He is survived by daughter, Amy (Brian) Craven of Smithville; grandson, Jakob Craven; mother, Bonnie Summers of Smithville; brothers, Randy (Tammy) Summers of Smithville, Ronnie (Veronica) Stoglin of Chattanooga; sister Diane (Dwayne) Allen of Cookeville. The family has honored Mr. Stoglin’s request to be cremated and will have a Celebration of Life at a later date. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
