Jerry Donald Hibdon passed away Tuesday, August 27th, 2019, at Maury Regional Hospital. He was born in Smithville, TN on December 31st, 1942 and was 76 years old.
Jerry was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, and brother. He was an avid golfer and a friend to all and stranger to none and would always tell you a joke. Jerry was a man of faith and a member of First United Methodist Church in Pulaski, TN. Jerry attended Martin Methodist College along with Bethel College and MTSU where he received his Masters Degree in Physical Education. He was a well-respected coach and teacher at several different schools during his lifetime. He was inducted to the Sports Hall of Fame at both Martin Methodist College and Bethel College. In 1975, Jerry and his wife, Wendy partnered in the ownership and operation of Sports World Sporting Goods, a community giving, family owned business, which they owned and operated solely from 1982 until their retirement in 2013.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 28th from 1:00pm until 4:00pm with a Celebration of life following at First United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jimmie Marshall Hibdon and Hazel Youree Cantrell Hibdon and brother Fred Hibdon.
He is survived by his,

Sons, Jeff Hibdon and wife Jennifer of Decatur, AL, Todd Hibdon and wife Shana of Pulaski.

Betty Jean Spencer

Betty Jean Spencer age 79 of Smithville, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at her residence. She was born April 27, 1940 to her parents, the late Willie and Idabell Crook. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Jewell Spencer; grandson, Brian Spencer; daughter-in-law, Karen Spencer; granddaughter-in-law, Hailey Vanderpool. Ms. Spencer was a retired nurse and a manger at Hardees. She is survived by, children, Steve Spencer of Smithville, Debbie (Donnie) Bartley of Lavergne, JoAnn (Danny) Bradford of Fair View, Tn.; grandchildren, Richard (Carley) Vanderpool, Matthew Vanderpool, Robert Spencer, David Spencer, Hope Spencer, Kayla Spencer, Brandon Spencer, Amy (Adam) Smith, Danny Wayne Bradford, Mitchell (Brittney) Bradford; 23 great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce Marie Hale; brothers, Charles Crook, Wayne Crook, and J.T. Crook. Funeral services will be 1:PM Friday August 30,2019 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Curtis Young officiating and burial will follow in Dismal Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday 4:PM until 8:PM and on Friday 11:AM until the time of the service at 1:PM. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
James Robert Taylor

James Robert Taylor, age 68, of Smithville passed away on Monday, August 26 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral services for Mr. Taylor will be on Thursday, August 29, at 2pm at the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home with interment to follow in Whorton Springs. Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday from 3-8pm, Wednesday from 12-8pm, and on Thursday from 10am until the time of service at 2pm. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Robert and Frances Myra Taylor; and siblings, Oma Mae Tramel, Joe Lane Taylor, Freddy Brown, and Darlene Crimes. Survivors of Mr. Taylor include 2 brothers, Douglas Lewis and wife Natha Taylor of Smithville, and Grady Lee Taylor of Smithville; several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Funeral services for Tommy Ray Williams of Sparta, Tn. will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, August 27, 2019 in the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home in Crossville, Tn. Burial will follow in the Smith Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, Aug. 26, 2019, from 2 PM to 7 PM, and on Tuesday Aug. 27 from 10 AM until the time of the service at 3 PM. Survivors include wife Nancy Williams of Sparta, Sons Gary Williams (Lora) of Sparta, Jeff Williams (Linda) of Smithville, Timmy Williams (Shondra) of Sparta, and Brandon Williams of Sparta. Daughters Misty Copeland of Crossville, and Tina Williams (Lucas) of Sparta. Brother Johnny Williams of Sparta. Sisters Mary Howe of Spencer, Alene Boles of Cookeville, Cindy Rogers of Sparta, and Wilene Gunter of Nashville. 9 Grandchildren, and 2 Great Grandchildren. Jean Sylvia Linder, age 72, of Rock Island, TN passed away Friday, August 23, 2019 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was retired from Regal Craft Cabinets where she worked as a sander. Visitation with the family will be on Monday, August 26, 2019 from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm and on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 from 10:00 am until the funeral service at 2:00 pm in the Love-Cantrell Chapel.
Mrs. Linder was preceded in death by her mother, Winifred Staniforth Woods. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Larry W. Linder, of Rock Island; daughter, Tracey Linder of McMinnville; son, Gary Woods of Rock Island; grandchildren, Madison Parsley and Cody Eldridge of McMinnville, Ashlyn Parsley, Noah Parsley, and Braxton Cox, all of McMinnville; great grandchildren, Silvia Eldridge and Mia Eldridge of McMinnville; son-in-law, John Cox; and special family member, Kenneth Parsley, Sr.

Lakey Eugene Rogers age 56 of Smithville, passed away Monday August 19, 2019 at Cookeville Regional Hospital. He was born January 22, 1963 to his parents the late Robert and Imogene Ray Rogers. He was a car salesman. Mr. Rogers is survived by his wife, Kim Rogers of Smithville; step-children, Liza Herriman of Smithville, Ashley Davis of Ind., and Jordan Kinnett of Ind.; three grandchildren, Ashtyn Herriman, Logan Herriman and Miles Davis; several family and friends also survive. Funeral services will be 11:AM Friday August 23, 2019 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro, Gary McBride officiating and burial will follow in New Union Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday 12 Noon until 8:PM and Friday 9:AM until the time of the service at 11:AM. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements
