Jo Dean Cathcart

Jo Dean Cathcart age 92 of the Snow Hill Community and for the last several years, she had resided with her daughter and son-in-law in Murfreesboro. She was born June 24, 1930, to her parents, the late Clarance Napoleon and Era Sedella Smith Atnip. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Cathcart; daughter, Vivian Ann Cathcart and sister Jo Nell Judkins. She worked as a secretary and then the shirt factory and was a homemaker. Ms. Jo Dean was a member of the Snow Hill Baptist Church where she served as the Treasurer for many years. She enjoyed working in her flowers and gardening. She leaves to cherish her memory, 1 daughter, Vicky (Stephen) White of Murfreesboro; 2 grandchildren, Stephanie (Aaron) Lawrence of Murfreesboro and Daniel (Jessica) White of Springfield; 4 great-grandchildren, Kirsten and Lucas Averette, Logan and Carly Lawrence; niece, Jackie Ray of Smithville. Funeral services will be 1 PM Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bros. Steve Puckett and Michael Hale officiating and burial will follow in Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Monday 4 PM until 7 PM and Tuesday 11:AM until the time of the service at 1 PM. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.




Zachariah Drennan

January 21, 2023

Zachariah Drennan, 2 month old son of Nicholas & Cheyenne Drennan, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023 at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville.

Zachariah was born on October 26, 2022 in McMinnville, TN.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 23, 2023 at 1pm from the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Chad Ramsey and Sam Scavo will officiate and burial will follow at the Crabtree Family Cemetery in Rickman, TN. Visitation with the family will be held on Monday, from 10am until the time of the service at 1pm.

He is preceded in death by his Paternal Grandmothers, Gayle Drennan & Alma Drennan. Paternal Great Grandmother, Gloria Taylor & Paternal Great Grandfather, Larry Winningham. Paternal Aunt, Margie Drennan. Maternal Great Great Grandmothers, Joann Downs, Edith Crabtree & Nell Hammock. Maternal Great Great Grandfathers, Willie Crabtree, JL Winningham & Dorma Garrett.

Survivors include his parents, Nicholas (Cheyenne) Winningham Drennan of Rickman, TN. Siblings, Xander, Xyla & Xayden Drennan all of Rickman, TN. Paternal Grandparents, Amanda (Jason) Winningham of Rickman, TN & David Drennan of Smithville, TN. Maternal Grandparents, Curtis Winningham of Hilham, TN & Shannon (Harry) Brooks of Lebanon, TN. Paternal Great Grandparents, JR Drennan of TX, Kenneth (Debbie) Lattimore of Smithville, TN & Barbara Winningham of Hilham, TN. Maternal Great Grandparents, Donna (David) Crabtree of Hardys Chapel, TN & Edna (Gary) Winningham of Hilham, TN. Paternal Great Great Grandmother, Imogene Webb of Hilham, TN & Maternal Great Great Grandmother, Alberta Garrett of Monroe, TN. Several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins & Friends also survive.

Rosetta Jones Bellamy

January 20, 2023

62-year-old Rosetta Jones Bellamy, a homemaker  was born October 28, 1960 and departed this life on Jan. 19, 2023 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro after an extended illness.

The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Dusty Desimone will officiate and burial will be in Hillview Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 9 a.m. until the service at 2 p.m.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, L.M. Jones, Sr. and Bertha Likens Jones and Sisters, Betty Jones, sissy Gaskins and Hilda Jones, Brothers, Jerry Jones and L.M. Jones Jr. Rosetta is survived by her husband of 22-1/2 years Steve Bellamy of Murfreesboro, children Christopher J. Wilson of Brush Creek and Leslie D. Wilkerson of Murfreesboro; her grandchildren, Sirus Wilson and Savannah Wilkerson. She is also survived by sisters, Emma Feese, Carolyn Austin and Susie Hartshome and several Nieces and Nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations may be made to Anderson Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.

Timothy Wayne Redmon

January 20, 2023

Mr. Timothy Wayne Redmon, age 47 of McMinnville, passed away Thursday night at his residence. He was a member of Sink Creek Missionary Baptist Church and worked with Jewel’s Construction Company.

Mr. Redmon was born on May 29, 1975 in Gallatin, TN to his parents Jewel Redmon and the late Pamela Harrison Redmon.

Visitation with the Redmon family will be on Saturday from 10:00 am until the service time at 2:00 pm at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Thomas Hale with officiate. Burial will follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include one daughter, Megan Redmon, father, Jewel Redmon (Viva Johnson) all of Smithville, 3 Siblings, Chris (Rena) Redmon of Utah, Lora (Alan) Webb of Smithville and Brian (Tiane) Redmon of Westmoreland.

In addition to flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.

Willard Colwell

Willard Colwell of Smithville passed away Tuesday night January 17, 2023 at St. Thomas Midtown in Nashville. He was born November 11, 1955 to his parents, the late Toy Brown & Lydia Maye Williams Colwell. Willard was a member of Coopers Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Brothers: John B., James, Dallas, Eugene, Floyd, Lillard and Johnnie Colwell; Sister: Martha Moore. Funeral Services will be 4 PM Monday, January 23, 2023 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be Monday 12 Noon until the time of the service at 4 PM.
Survivors include his wife: Sally Colwell of Smithville; Children: Jermiah James (Christy) Colwell of Murfreesboro, Willard Lee(Cora) Colwell of New York, Sara (Cory) Williams of Cookeville, Rhonda (Royce) Moore of Dowelltown, Renae Edmonds of Smithville, Yvonne (Shannon) Hale of Smithville; Grandchildren: Avery, Evangeline, Amalie, Vienne, Jayse, Addison, Nick, Jayrah(Adam) Nunley, Leah Cooper, Bobby O’Conner, Jr., Michael Shuttleworth, Kathryn and Kaleb Hale; Great-Grandchildren: Benjamin and Shelby O’Conner; Brother: Daniel Colwell of Morrison. Glynda Sue Barrett

Glynda Sue Barrett, age 79, of Woodbury passed away peacefully at her residence Monday, January 16, 2023. She was born October 20, 1943, to her parents, the late Elzie and Alta Tate Vickers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Barrett; brother, Douglas Vickers; sister, Betty Foutch; son-in-law, Larry Prater; and nephew, Michael Foutch. Ms. Barrett was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church and worked at Colonial Shirt Factory. She is survived by daughter, Pamela Prater of Woodbury; granddaughter, Jessica Prater and fiancé James Lackey of Woodbury; sister-in-law, Linda Vickers of Liberty; nephews, nieces, and lots of cousins; adopted family Ken, Pam and Chris Knowles; special friend, Elaine Rains. Graveside service and Interment will be held 2 PM Thursday January 19, 2023, at Pleasant View Cemetery with Bro. Russell Vickers officiating. There will not be any visitation held, family and friends will meet at the cemetery for the graveside service. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
