Doris Ann Hullett, the mother of Apryl Snider Valentino (Chris Valentino) passed from this life on February 7, 2022 while surrounded by her family and loving companion Aaron Hester. Doris was born August 2, 1946 to her loving parents the late Ewin and Ada Hicks. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Stevie and Jackie Snider; brothers Tom, Billi and Ewin Hicks, Jr.; sisters, Ruby Johnson, Virginia Atnip and Jean Hicks. She was a member of Smithville First Baptist Church and was known throughout the community for her delicious cooking served with sarcasm and a smile. You may have known her for the mischievous acts from rolling yards and pranks played in stores. Not a week went by that a joke wasn’t played on some unsuspecting soul. Doris’s greatest adventure happened each spring when the weather would fair and the sales began. It would be easy to run into her at a yard sale and without fail share a laugh and a hug. Cherished grandmother of Marla, Trent, Brandi, Carlie, Jayce, Emily and Christian. great-grandmother to Trey, Seth, Keira, Kylie, Adden, Collin, Avery, Daniel and Carson. Remembered by her many nieces and nephews, cousins and dear friends. Funeral services will be Thursday, February 10, 2022 at 2:00PM at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Shane Smith and Bro. Michael Hale officiating and burial to follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday 4:00PM till 7:00PM and on Thursday 10:00AM until the time of the service at 2:00PM. Donations may be made to Lighthouse Christian Camp in memorial of Ms. Doris. The funeral home lounge is closed at this time and no food or drinks are allowed in the funeral home. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
