Dorothy Jean Puckett age 79 passed away Saturday morning, May 2, 2020 at her residence. She was born September 14, 1940 to her parents, the late Obie and Vera Earline Redman Certain. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Puckett; step-father, Lonnie Rigsby and brother, Gordon Certain. Dorothy worked at Geny’s Wholesale Florist in Nashville, worked with the Food Pantyr and Clothes Closet and was a member of the Bright Hill United Methodist Church. She leaves to cherish her memory, 2 children, Jimmy (Anita) Puckett of Smithville and Fran (Dave) Bennett of Maryville; 6 grandchildren, Mikki (Matt) Trentham, Hunter Bennett and FiancĂ©, Lyndsey, Kristian (Dustin) Nelson, Kidman Puckett and FiancĂ©, Dophcar, Lexi Bennett and Addison Puckett; 4 great-grandchildren, Lakelyn and Camden Nelson, Violet and Asher Trentham; nephews, Terry, Eric and Jeff Certain; special family, Hooper Judkins, Frances Kiaha and Erma Haun. Due to the Governor’s Executive Order 30, and the recommendation of family only services and continued Social Distancing, there will be a Private Graveside Service Sunday, May 3, 2020 at Burton-Ponder Cemetery. In addition to flowers, donations may be made to the Bright Hill United Methodist Church, in memory of Ms. Dorothy. Those donations can be made by calling the funeral home.
