Frank D. Thomas, age 85, of Liberty, passed away at his residence on Monday, December 16, 2024. Born in Liberty, TN on October 11, 1939, he was the son of the late Willie Noble and Bobbie Gibbs Thomas. Frank was a long-time grave digger, known for digging many graves by hand, and a local celebrity. He owned part of Salem Cemetery and Frank Thomas Monuments and served as a former county commissioner.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Betty Duke Thomas of Liberty; his grandson, Jonathon Thomas of Liberty; granddaughter, Crystal Street of Liberty; his sister-in-law, Sheila Thomas of Smithville; and special friends, Ken and Jamie Vickers of Liberty. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Bobbie Thomas; his son, Donald Thomas; and his three brothers, Ben Thomas, Jimmy Thomas, and Robert Thomas.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at 2pm at Salem Cemetery.
