George Steinbach age 73 of Smithville passed away Saturday morning, November 26, 2022, at his residence. Mr. Steinbach was born August 3, 1949, to his parents, the late Frederick John and Josephine Mary Allendorf Steinbach. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 5 siblings, William, Fred, Robert, Andrew Steinbach and Lucille Crouse. He worked for many years at Genesco and then later at Regal Craft. Mr. George served his country in the United States Army, serving in Vietnam and then he was in the Tennessee Army National Guard for over 22 years and was a member of the American Legion. He was a member of the Sink Creek Missionary Baptist Chruch, where he served as a deacon. He is survived by wife of 48 years, Ginger Steinbach of Smithville; 3 children, Georgette (Bryan) Judkins, Stephanie (Robert) England and Stephen Steinbach all of Smithville; 5 grandchildren, Zackary, Lacey, Hayley, Jordan and Lily England; 3 step-grandchildren, Mindy Evans, Kayla Kincer and Hannah England; 7 step-great-grandchildren, Kenya Batey, Jordan Batey, Carly Batey, Omari Molin, Kasen Kincer, Kaden Kincer and Kolten Kincer; sister-in-law, JoAnn Steinbach of Plainview, IL; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1 PM Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bros. Dwight Rackley and Dwayne Rackley officiating and burial will follow in DeKalb Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday 4 PM until 7 PM and Wednesday 10:AM until the time of the service at 1 PM. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
