Jerry W. Beshearse age 80 of Smithville, passed away Saturday morning February 5, 2022, at St. Thomas Midtown in Nashville. Jerry was born November 15, 1941, to his parents, the late Virgil and Leola Johnson Beshearse. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris Hendrixson Beshearse; stepfather, Oliver Houk; brother, Ronnie Houk; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Schuyler and Frances Hendrixson; sister-in-law, Lucille Beshearse; brother-in-law, Joe Hendrixson. He was a member of the Short Mountain Church of God and retired from Carrier Corporation. He leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Ruth Lowery Beshearse of Smithville; sons, Gary (Rita) Beshearse and Terry (Wanda) Beshearse both of Smithville; daughter, Teresa (Darrell) Spencer of Smithville; 1 step-daughter, Deborah (Larry) Kirby of McMinnville; 8 grandchildren, Lacey (Daniel) Foutch, Caleb Spencer, Kandy (James) Culbertson, Allie Beshearse, Amber (Le) Kelsor, Josh (April) Hunt, Amber (Tony) Becker, Jared (Sarah) Kirby; 14 great-grandchildren, Hunter Winne, Emmaline Foutch, J.P. Culbertson, Elleiyah Gurley, River Hunt, Rylan Presley, Braylynn Hunt, Bentley Hunt, Kanzada Hunt, Skylar Becker, Ayla Becker, Alona Becker, Triniti Kelsor and Kara Kelsor; 2 brothers, Gene Beshearse of Florida, Bernard (Anita) Houk of Smithville and 1 sister, Deborah (Danny) Agee of Smithville; 1 sister-in-law, Mertie Lawrence of Smithville; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1 PM Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Bernard Houk officiating and burial will follow in Banks Cemetery with Bro. Charlie Stanton officiating. Visitation will be Monday 3 PM until 7 PM and Tuesday from 10:AM until the time of the service at 1 PM. The funeral home lounge is closed at this time and no food or drinks are allowed in the funeral home. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
