Norman Hendrix age 64 of Smithville, passed away Monday, June 1, 2020 at his residence. He was born October 17, 1955 to his parents, Oliver “Man” and Ruth Arnold Hendrix. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 siblings, Linda Foster, Brenda Walker and Junior Hendrix. Norman was a member of the Smithville Church of God, retired from Carrier Corporation with over 29 years and enjoyed hunting. He is survived by his wife, Anita Hendrix of Smithville; 2 children, Brittany (Jason) Moseley of Smithville, Caleb Hendrix (Christy) of Smithville; 2 step-children, Anthony (Kelly) Primm of Nashville, Chase Moore (Nick) of Smithville; 6 grandchildren, Hailey Moseley, Alyssa Hendrix, Kaylee Moseley, Bucksley Haney, Cass Foltz and Blakelyn Hendrix; siblings, Beecher (Phyllis) Hendrix of Hendersonville, Aubrey Hendrix of Rock Island, Carolyn Whitlock of McMinnville, David (Coletta) Hendrix of McMinnville, Frank (Lorene) Hendrix of Rock Island, Jimmy Hendrix of Smithville, Anthony (Anita) Hendrix of Smithville, Phillip (Peggy) Hendrix of Smithville, Lisa (Lee) Byford of Dowelltown; mother of his children, Donna Hendrix of Smithville and many nieces and nephews. Due to COVID-19, the Governor’s Executive Order 38 and Social Distancing Guidelines, Funeral Services will be 3 PM Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Donnie Kelly officiating and burial will follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. The funeral service will be Live-streamed on DeKalb Funeral Chapel Facebook page. We have the Chapel Pews marked for 50% capacity to honor Social Distancing Guidelines. Anyone attending visitation or service, please adhere to Social Distancing Guidelines for the health and safety of everyone. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Lighthouse Christian Camp, in memory of Norman. Visitation will be Wednesday 11:AM until the of the service at 3 PM. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
