William “Tojo” Cantrell

William “Tojo” Cantrell, age 57, of Smithville, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at Ascensions St. Thomas Rutherford. Born on April 27, 1967, in McMinnville, TN, he was the son of the late Donald Ray and Violet Ann Cantrell. William was a nurseryman and of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sonya Caldwell Cantrell, and his son, Carl Ray Cantrell of Smithville. He also leaves behind three stepchildren, Blake Mitchell, Terry Joe Mitchell, and Aleaha Miler, all of Smithville. William is also survived by his sisters, Becky Cantrell and Anita (Scott) Adams, and his brother, Andy Cantrell, all of Smithville. His mother-in-law, Pamela Turner, sisters-in-law, Sherry (Joe) Daniels and Sabrina (Billy) Parker, and brother-in-law, Corey (Alisha) Turner, all of Smithville. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also mourn his passing.

William was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Violet Cantrell, his great-niece, Rayleigh Violet Scruggs, and his grandparents, William and Henrietta Cantrell, and George and Annie Silvers.

Visitation with the Cantrell family will be on Thursday from 12:00 to 7:00 pm and Friday from 10:00 am until service time at 1:00 pm. Bro. Nathan Thomason will officiate and burial will follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Love-Cantrell Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
