Wilma Lucille Garrison of Alexandria, age 88 passed away Friday night September 4, 2020 at NHC of Smithville. She was born July 21, 1932 to her parents the late William Delton and Ruth Hunt Vanatta. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husband, Hoyte Garrison; a son, William Timothy Garrison; sisters, Lois Gregory, Lera Walden; brothers, William “Buddy” Vanatta, and Ray Donald Vanatta. Ms. Lucille worked for many years at Alexandria shirt factory, and she was a member of Salem Baptist Church. She is survived by son, Ronnie (Lisa) Garrison of Smithville; granddaughters, Rachel (Josh) Arnold of Smithville, Jessica (Ethan) Hale of Alexandria; great-grandchildren, Lucas River Garrison, Lucy Rayne Arnold, and John William Hale; sister, Brenda (David) Denney of Lebanon; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be Monday September 7, 2020 at 2 PM at the Smithville Church of God with Bro. Chris Moore and Bro. Graden Kirksey officiating and burial will follow in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM and on Monday 11:00 AM until the time of the service at 2:00 PM at the Smithville Church of God. Due to the COVID-19, the Governors Executive Orders 38 and 51 and Social Distancing Guidelines, we ask for the health and safety of everyone that you please exercise Social Distancing. The family ask in addition to flowers donations may be made to Salem Cemetery or Smithville Church of God, Building Fund.
