Danny Green age 71 of Smithville, passed away Saturday morning October 26, 2024, at his residence. He was born February 22, 1953, to his parents the late Charles Edward “Pete” and Mildred Virginia Cantrell Green. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Sabrian Brown; brother, Tim Green; and sister, Kathy Northcut. Mr. Green was a man of God and faithful member of Open Word Tabernacle. He retired after 34 years from Carrier and then worked at the DeKalb County Landfill for many years. He is survived by wife of 49 years, Pauline Green of Smithville; brothers, Steve (Barbara) Green and Anthony “Doc” Green both of Smithville; sisters, Marilyn Strayn of McMinnville and Sandy Stone of Smithville; brother-in-law, Roy Chapman (Teresa Gilreath) of Smithville; several nieces and nephews; 3 grandchildren, Kashia, Haley, and Chelsie; special son and daughter, Darren and Rebekah Kinzer, and grandchildren, Hannah, Sam, Isaiah, Naomi, Rachel, Gideon, Colton, and Luke; special niece, Amanda Hale, special great-niece, Deanna Neal. Funeral services will be held 4PM Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Darren Kinzer and Bro. Phil Bontrager officiating and burial will follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday, 10:AM until the time of the service at 4PM. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Caris Hospice Staff for the love and care shown Danny. Dorothy Jean Baines age 92 of Smithville, passed away Thursday night October 24, 2024, at Willow Branch Health & Rehab in McMinnville. She was born June 18, 1932, to her parents, the late Everett & Ina Louise Jones Hutchens. Ms. Dorothy was a Pentecostal and worked at the Hosiery Mill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Baines; Sisters: Pauline Hutchens, Annie Louise Hutchens; Brother: Jerry Hutchings, Sr. Funeral service will be held 2 PM Monday October 28, 2024, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Joe Jones officiating and burial to follow in DeKalb Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Sunday 1 PM until 5 PM and Monday 10:AM until the time of service at 2 PM. Survivors include: 3 sons: Gary Baines, Michael (Linda) Baines, Ronald (Gail) Baines all of Smithville; Grandchildren: Jason Baines, Caleb (Carrie) Baines, Emily (Josh) Linder, Michael Paul (Karla) White; Great Grandchildren: Matthew Baines, Ira Baines, Katie Linder, John Linder, Lilliann Linder, Wesley White, Adelyn White; Brother: Edward (Janie) Hutchings of Smithville; Sisters: Mary (Jay) Young, Loretta Walls both of Smithville; Several nieces & nephews; Special Friend: Peggy (John) Caldwell. Margaret Doris Uselton age 79, died Tuesday evening, Oct. 22, 2024 at her Lebanon residence. Born Jan. 25, 1945 in the Liberty Hill Community of Alexandria, she was the daughter of the late Joe Thomas Harvey and Alene Adamson Harvey. She was preceded in death by her brother, James Thomas Harvey and his wife, Miranda and a brother-in-law, Eddie Crips.
Doris graduated as Salutatorian of the last graduating class of Liberty High School in 1963. She was a retired office clerk at the State Farm Insurance Regional Office in Murfreesboro. Doris was a lifelong member of Liberty Hill Presbyterian Church.
Doris is survived by her husband of 58 years, Donnie Uselton; her sisters, Mary Katherine Matus (Richard), Elaine Chapman (Ken) and Brenda Gail Crips; sister-in-law, Glenda Campbell (Terry); nieces and nephews, Kendra Erie (David), Shelly Brown (David), Randal Harvey, Kevin Harvey (Angelia), Ryan Crips (Kasey), Chad Harvey (Kayla), Jeff Crips (Melissa), Shannon Case (Angela), Michelle Arms, Jason Case and many great nieces and great nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, 2024 at Liberty Hill Presbyterian Church with Rev. Tim Diffenderfer and Rev. Bo. Burgener officiating. Visitation 3-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and 11 a.m. till service time Friday at the church. Pallbearers, Randal, Kevin and Chad Harvey, David Erie, David Brown and Creed Clifton. Interment at the Talley Cemetery.

Bobby “Hoss” Mingle Jr.

Bobby “Hoss” Mingle Jr. passed away Sunday October 20th at Johnson City Medical Center. Born in Smithville to the late Bobby Sr and Paulette Mingle.
He is also preceded in death by his brother John Mingle who passed just last month.
Nicknamed “Hoss” due to his large persona and an even bigger heart, Bobby was a truck driver by trade, something he loved almost as much as his family (pups and grand pups included). He was a member of the Smithville Church of the Nazarene and Masonic Temple as well as the Masonic Order of Eastern Stars. A servant of God, Country and Community, he will be sorely missed by all.
He leaves behind his dear wife Priscilla Mingle, daughters Nikki (Joey) Pillow and Brittany (Chris) Church. Pups Jethro, Skye, Thumper and Marley and grand pups Hossy, Bubba, Jax and Essie. He is also survived by his sister Felisa (Steven) Coppinger, brother Billy (Donna) Mingle, Mother-in-law Darlene Matthews, Brother-in-law Chris (Dana) Stanley and Harlee Stanley (Blake Parker) whom he loved like a daughter. Bobby is also survived by many nieces and nephews Dustin (Samantha) Mingle, Justin Mingle, Nathan Mingle, Candace (Will) Bell, Dalton Coppinger, Cheyenne Fann (James Parker), Hagen Fann (Lakelyn Kilpatrick), Zack (Amanda) Stanley, Caleb Gingerich, and Seth Stanley.
His family will receive visitors at Woodbury Funeral Home Friday, October 25th from 10am to 8pm and again on Saturday, October 26th from 10am until time of service which will be held at the Chapel at Woodbury Funeral Home at 1pm officiated by Trent Colwell and Billy Martin. Burial to follow at Dekalb Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Dustin Mingle, Justin Mingle, Nathan Mingle, Dalton Coppinger, Zack Stanley, Caleb Gingerich, Hagan Fann, and Seth Stanley.

Emma Jean Parker Vanatta of the Snow Hill Community, passed away Tuesday morning, October 22, 2024 at NHC HealthCare of Smithville. She was born in Liberty to her parents, the late Euen Everett and Effie Viola Gilley Parker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. “Buck” Vanatta; sister, Aunia Bell Vanatta and nephew, Kennith Vanatta. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She is survived by extended family and friends. Funeral services will be 1 PM Thursday October 24, 2024 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Michael Hale officiating and burial will follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday 10:AM until the time of the service at 1 PM. Felicia Ann Moore age 34 of Lebanon, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2024 from injuries received in an automobile accident. She was born December 4, 1989 in Dearborn, Michigan to her parents, Kenneth Moore and the late Carolyn Johnson. She was a welder. She is survived by her father, Kenneth Moore of Crossville; step-father, David Johnson of Monterey; sister, Amanda Eldridge of Cookeville; 2 brothers, Jason Moore of Liberty and Justin Moore of Sparta. nieces and nephews, Nevaeh Moore, Phillip Martin, Jr., Maryalice Moore, Oliver Moore, Kenlee Moore and Everlyn Moore. The family has chosen a direct cremation and there will be a Memorial Visitation on Friday, October 25, 2024 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel from 11:AM until 1 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to DeKalb Funeral Chapel to help with funeral expenses. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is honored to care for the Moore family.
