63 year old Cynthia Marie Murphy of Bradyville passed away Sunday at Alive Hospice of Murfreesboro. She was an RN at NHC in South Dakota. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in DeKalb Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the service at 1 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dean Humbert and Ruth Scott; husband, Roy Murphy, Sr.; step son Waylon Farless; and step grandson Johnnie Farless. Survivors include her life partner, Ronnie Farless of Bradyville. Two daughters, Brandy and Johnnie Golden of Smithville and Rhonda Murphy of Manchester. Three step daughters, Wanda and Adam Mathis of Smithville, Chrystal Smith of Lebanon, and Amanda Lattimore of Smithville. A step son, Roy Murphy of Smithville. Twelve grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and two brothers, Johnnie and Jack Stout of Illinois and a sister, Charlie and Bob O’Riley of Colorado. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Joe Gordon Fitts, 77, of Liberty, TN, passed away Friday, November 1, 2019 at the NHC Healthcare in Smithville, Tn.
Mr. Fitts was born January 26, 1942 in Lebanon, TN a son of the late Ruby Gordon Fitts and Alta Irene Washer. He was preceded in death by a daughter: Teresa Anderson, Grandson: Thadeus Anderson and a brother James “Red” Fitts.
He was a graduate of Liberty High School, Liberty, TN. He married Lucille Hamlett on January 25, 1964. Joe loved fishing and the outdoors.
Mr. Fitts is survived by his wife of 55 years; Lucille Hamlett Fitts of Liberty, TN. Son; Joe Fitts, Jr, of Liberty, TN. Five Grandchildren; Megan Lynn Fitts of Smithville, TN, Haley Renee Fitts of Smithville, TN, Trinity (Amelia) Anderson of Gordonsville, TN, Titus (Stacey) Anderson of Mississippi, and Travis (Danielle) Anderson of Smithville, TN. Siblings; Patricia Bain, Mary Ray, Barbara Ray, Brenda Wooden, and Stephen Fitts. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services for Mr. Fitts are scheduled to be conducted on Monday, November 4, 2019 at 1PM from the Chapel of Avant Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Clayborn officiating. Interment will follow in the New Hope Cemetery.
Visitation with the Fitts family will be at Avant Funeral Home in Alexandria, TN, on Sunday from 1PM until 8PM and on Monday from 10AM until service time at 1PM.

80 year old Reba Nell Jones Hennessee of McMinnville passed away Thursday at Boulevard Terrace in Murfreesboro. She was a retired steamstress and homemaker and a member of the Mt Leo Church of Christ. The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Trent Key will officiate and burial will be in the Mt View Cemetery in McMinnville. Visitation will be Saturday from 4-8 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Hennessee; parents, Benjamin and Sophie Cantrell Jones; and two sisters, Jean Neal and Helen Mayo. Survivors include a daughter, Karan and Kerry Crowe of Virginia. Three sons, Brad and Renee Hennessee of Smithville, Kevin and Heather Hennessee of Smyrna, and Stacy Hennessee of McMinnville. Eight grandchildren, Nathan Crowe and Samantha Crowe of Virginia, James and Abby Caplinger, Zackary and Faith Caplinger, Katya, Valya, and Pasha Hennessee of Smithville and Rion Hennessee of Smyrna. Two great grandchildren, Brookelynn and Brayden Caplinger. One sister, Dean Edge of Smithville. One brother, Winston and Nellie Jones of McMinnville. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Earl Ellis Lester age 82 of Smithville and formerly of Hanover, WV, passed away Wednesday October 30, 2019 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro. He was born March 11, 1937 to his parents, the late General and Minerva Mullins Lester. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Lester; daughter, Frieda Lester; siblings, Dorothy Copley, Ed Lester, Harold Lester, Shirley Mayhorn and Mack Lester. Mr. Lester was a member of the Sprattsville Freewill Baptist Church in Sprattsville, WV, a U.S. Army Veteran and a retired coal miner. He leaves to cherish his memory, 3 children, Karen Christian of Rock Island, John Lester and fiancé, Kelee Kennedy of Rock Island and Aaron and wife, Karen Lester of Smithville; 5 grandchildren, Susan (David) Taylor, Nick (Jodi) Lester, Cassi (Chad) Curtis, Jayde Lester and Jacob Lester; 5 great-grandchildren, Preston, Paizlee and Parker Sue Taylor, and Jonah and Karsyn Lester. Funeral services will be 5 p.m. Friday, November 1, 2019 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Nathan Thomason officiating. Visitation will be Friday 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. Interment services and burial will be 2 p.m. EST Saturday at Palm Memorial Gardens in Matheny, WV. In addition to flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Shriner Children’s Hospital, in memory of Mr. Earl. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
