Tyler Nathaniel Williams

Tyler Nathaniel Williams age 17 of Smithville, passed away Sunday morning, March 13, 2022, at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville. He was born September 17, 2004. He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, J. B. Williams. He attended Refuge Church and was a 11th grade student at DeKalb County High School. He is survived by father, Kent Williams of Smithville; siblings, Jim (Whitney) Williams of Murfreesboro, Amy Williams of Lebanon, Delena Cantrell of Portland, Oregon, and Kayla and Haley of McMinnville; paternal grandmother and grandfather, Jo and Jess Baker of Smithville; several, Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins; devoted friend, Josh Grisham. Funeral services will be 1 PM Thursday, March 17, 2022, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Jimbo Eddins officiating with burial to follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday 12:Noon until the service at 1:00PM at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. The family ask that donations be made to DeKalb Funeral Chapel to help with funeral expenses. The funeral home lounge is closed at this time and no food or drinks are allowed in the building. In honor of Tyler, the family asks that anyone attending the funeral, to please wear Tennessee Titans Apparel. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.




Nell Terrell Medley

Nell Terrell Medley age 84 of Smithville, passed away Sunday morning, March 13, 2022 at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital in Smithville. She was born June 13, 1937 to her parents, the late John and Arlena Ashburn Terrell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth “Bud” Medley; siblings: Daisy Ferrell, Rosa Allen, Ferman Terrell, Bernice Terrell, Laura Ruth Hughes, Ernest Ray Terrell, and Lela Summers. Ms. Medley was a member of Webbs Chapel United Methodist Church and was a Factory Worker. She is survived by 1 sister: Betty Moss of Lebanon; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at 11:00AM at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. David Hill officiating and burial to follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday 3:00 PM till 7:00 PM and on Wednesday 9:00 AM until the time of the service at 11:00 AM. In addition to flowers the family ask donations be made to Webb’s Chapel United Methodist Chruch in memory of Ms. Medley. The funeral home lounge is closed at this time and NO food or drinks are allowed in the building. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.




Sally J. Troyer Potts

Sally J. Troyer Potts age 64 of Smithville, passed away March 10, 2022, at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital ER from injuries received in an automobile accident. She was born March 5, 1958, to her parents the late, John R. and Amanda Yoder Troyer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, R. C. Potts. She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ, a caregiver and homemaker. Ms. Potts is survived by siblings, Mary J., Rudy J., Andy J., and Lovina J. Troyer; friends, Charlie Lawson, Jessie Mashburn and her Church Family. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Charlie Lawson officiating and burial to follow in Jennings Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday 3:00PM till 7:00PM and on Tuesday 10:00AM until the time of the service at 1:00PM at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. The funeral home lounge is closed at this time and NO Food or Drinks are allowed in the building. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.




Chrissy Jenee Clayton Means

Ms. Chrissy Jenee Clayton Means, age 44 of Cookeville, TN and DeKalb County, TN native, passed away early Thursday morning, March 10, 2022 at her home.

Chrissy was born on February 18, 1978 in Smithville, TN to her parents, Bobbie Joyce Taylor Clayton & the late Phillip Mason Clayton. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her grandparents, Bob & Joyce Taylor and Paul & Jean Clayton. Chrissy was a Licensed Practical Nurse and attended Life Church.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at 3pm from the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mt. Holly Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Saturday from 1pm-8pm & again on Sunday from 1pm until the time of services at 3pm.

Survivors include her Daughter, Addy Means of Cookeville, TN. Mother, Bobbie Clayton of Smithville, TN. Brothers, Scott Clayton of Cookeville, TN & Ryan (Magen) Clayton of Smithville, TN. Nephews, Kaleb Clayton & Seth Clayton both of Cookeville, TN & Parker Clayton of Smithville, TN. Niece, Riley Clayton of Smithville, TN. Special Friend, Amy (Eckert) Higuera of Colorado. Several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins & Friends also survive.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations please be made to the Funeral Home to help with the burial expenses.




Patricia Ashworth

The family of the late Patricia Ashworth ask you to join them at the Alexandria Senior
Center this Sunday, March 13, from 1pm until 3, to celebrate the life of this beautiful,
and much-loved lady.

Ms. Pat leaves to treasure her memory siblings; Lynne, David, and Harry; children
Brian, LaDonna, and Valerie; grandchildren, Brian, Mason, and Naval Academy Cadet
Donna-Marie; and many nieces and nephews.

Pat was devoted to her family, her home-church, the West Main Baptist Church, and the
Alexandria Senior Center. At the Center, Pat spent countless volunteer hours serving the
seniors of her community. From cooking to comforting, no task was too much when it
came to helping another person.

So, join us at the Alexandria Senior Center, this Sunday, March 13, from 1pm until 3 as
we lovingly honor the life of Patricia Ashworth. There will be a brief service at 2:45 pm




Christopher Dale Cantrell

March 8, 2022

Mr. Christopher Dale Cantrell age 50 of Dowelltown, TN passed away on February 9, 2022.

Mr. Cantrell was born on September 13, 1971 in Smithville, TN to his parents, the late Louis & Wanda Culwell Cantrell. He was a Nurseryman.

A memorial graveside service for Mr. Cantrell will be held at Bonham Cemetery, Sunday, March 13 @ 3pm.

Survivors include his Aunts, Hilda (Floyd) Corley of Tullahoma, TN & Joan Harolson of Lebanon, TN. Uncle, McClure (Pam) Cantrell of Smithville, TN. Special Cousins, Damian Tindell & Josie Culwell both of Smithville, TN. A host of additional cousins also survive.
