CMSgt. Richard Wayne Wilt, USAF, (Retired)

CMSgt. Richard Wayne Wilt, USAF, (Retired), of Smithville, Tennessee passed away at age 65 on February 9, 2022. He fought the good fight against cancer for 5 ½ years. Mr. Wilt was born March 12, 1956, to his parents, the late John William and Betty Lee Smith Wilt in Mt. Clemons, MI. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John Wilt (Vietnam) and James “Shorty” Mathis; two sisters, Debbie Nowlin and Linda Paitsel.

He entered the U.S. Air Force in 1974 and retired in 2006 at which time he moved to Auburntown, TN. During his time in the Air Force, he was on five continents, in twenty-six countries and in 48 states. His awards included: Meritorious Service (2), AF Commendation, Outstanding Unit (3), Overseas, Recruiting, National Defense, AF Longevity, AF Reserve, AF Military Academy, AF Small Arms Expert, AF Training, Saudi Arabian Liberation of Kuwait, and Kuwait Liberation.

He attended a 4-year Education for Ministry (EFM) Class through the University of the South in Sewanee, TN and he also had 3 1/2 years college. Richard was a member of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Cookeville, TN where he served as a Senior Warden, Junior Warden, Eucharistic Minister, the Altar Guild, was a Sunday school teacher and the leading Mentor for the EFM class.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Patricia Wilt of Smithville; 2 children, Richard Henry (Melissa) Wilt of Valdosta, GA, Pamela Sue (Jon) Haney of Auburn, AL; 4 grandchildren, Josie and Henry Wilt and Jake and Aubrey Haney; sister, Susan Burner of Phillipi, WV; 2 cousins, Jackson Hays of Auburntown, TN and Terry Wilt of Newburg, WV, and nephew Matthew Paige, Reva, VA.

Funeral services will be held 3 PM Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, Cookeville, TN with the Rev. Michael Blaess officiating and military honors conducted by the Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation at the Church before the Service at 1:30pm. Visitation will be at DeKalb Funeral Chapel on Monday, February 14, 2022 from 3:00-6:00 pm. Burial with full military honors will be held at the West Virginia National Cemetery in Pruntytown, WV on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at 2 PM EST.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, Building Fund, in memory of Richard.

Michael Dwight Foutch

Michael Dwight Foutch age 49, of Liberty passed away February 8, 2022. He was born May 21, 1972, to his parents, the late Teddy Foutch and Betty Vickers Foutch. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Bobbie (William) Chapman. Mr. Foutch was a member of Alexandria First Baptist Church, he was a Tool and Die Maker, and worked at Wal-Mart. He is survived by his wife, Nicola Foutch of Liberty; children, Taylor Lynn Foutch of Liberty, Jesse Dwight Foutch of Liberty, Thomas Michael Foutch of Liberty; aunts, Glynda (Melvin) Barrett of Woodbury, Linda Vickers of Woodbury; several cousins also survive. A Celebration Of Life will be held 2 PM Sunday, February 20, 2022, at Alexandria First Baptist Church with Bro. Billy Friel officiating. Visitation will be Monday February 14, 2022, at 4 PM till 8 PM at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. The funeral home lounge is closed at this time and no food or drinks are allowed in the building. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.




Paul McKinley Neal

Paul McKinley Neal age 82 of Liberty, passed away Tuesday February 8, 2022 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. He was born October 5, 1939 to his parents, the late Rastis and Tinnie Lee Neal. He worked at Jersey Farm Milk Service for 24 years, also worked at Athalon Sports and TN Wholesale Drugs, he was a former Alderman for Liberty and a member of Salem Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by Sisters: Billie (Houston) Herman, Mary (James) Hale, Myrtle Neal; Sister-in-law: Linda Pursell. Funeral service will be held Friday at 2 PM at Salem Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Salem Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Thursday 4 PM until 8 PM at DeKalb Funeral Chapel and Friday from 10:AM until the time of the service at 2 PM at Salem Baptist Church. Mr. Paul is survived by his wife of 63 years Jean Neal of Liberty; Brothers-in-law and Sisters-in-law: Dale (Marie) Malone of Mt. Juliet, J.T. (Peggy) Pursell of Liberty, Dale Pursell of Liberty; several nieces and nephews also survive. The Funeral Home lounge is closed at this time and NO FOOD or DRINKS are allowed in the building. Don Mabe

February 9, 2022

Don Mabe, age 56, of Manchester, Tennessee, passed away following a brief illness, on Monday, February 7, 2022, at Unity Medical Center.

Born in McMinnville, Tennessee, on February 5, 1966, Don devoted his life to being a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. He was a twenty year member of Trinity Baptist Church in Manchester, Tennessee and a Member of Christian Motorcyclists Association- Holy Spirit Reigns Chapter of McMinnville, Tennessee. Don loved riding motorcycles and witnessing for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; he never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand to others. In his spare time, he enjoyed raising his chickens and woodworking. Don will surely be missed by his loving family and friends.

Preceding him in death, is his father, William “Dexter” Mabe and one sister, Donna Tedrow.

Survivors include his mother, Lillian “Marie” Mabe; loving wife of thirty-two years, Tara Mabe; one son, Christopher Mabe; one daughter, Christin (Phillip) Brown; one sister, “Debbie” (Ricky) Arnold; and one granddaughter, his pride and joy, Lillian “Lilly” Brown.

Funeral services will be held at Coffee County Funeral Chapel on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at 2PM, with Bro. Ricky Arnold officiating. The family will receive visitors from 11AM until time of service.

Interment to immediately follow at Fredonia Cemetery in Manchester, Tennessee.

Doris Ann Hullett

Doris Ann Hullett, the mother of Apryl Snider Valentino (Chris Valentino) passed from this life on February 7, 2022 while surrounded by her family and loving companion Aaron Hester. Doris was born August 2, 1946 to her loving parents the late Ewin and Ada Hicks. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Stevie and Jackie Snider; brothers Tom, Billi and Ewin Hicks, Jr.; sisters, Ruby Johnson, Virginia Atnip and Jean Hicks. She was a member of Smithville First Baptist Church and was known throughout the community for her delicious cooking served with sarcasm and a smile. You may have known her for the mischievous acts from rolling yards and pranks played in stores. Not a week went by that a joke wasn’t played on some unsuspecting soul. Doris’s greatest adventure happened each spring when the weather would fair and the sales began. It would be easy to run into her at a yard sale and without fail share a laugh and a hug. Cherished grandmother of Marla, Trent, Brandi, Carlie, Jayce, Emily and Christian. great-grandmother to Trey, Seth, Keira, Kylie, Adden, Collin, Avery, Daniel and Carson. Remembered by her many nieces and nephews, cousins and dear friends. Funeral services will be Thursday, February 10, 2022 at 2:00PM at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Shane Smith and Bro. Michael Hale officiating and burial to follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday 4:00PM till 7:00PM and on Thursday 10:00AM until the time of the service at 2:00PM. Martin Cervantes Bravo

Martin Cervantes Bravo age 57 of Smithville passed away Sunday February 6, 2022 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro. He was born December 12,1964 to his parents, Luis Cervantes Guerrero and Juana Bravo Ramirez. He was a Catholic and spent most of his life working in a nursery and was currently disabled. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at DeKalb Funeral Chapel and burial to follow in the Webb Cemetery at Bluff Springs. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday 3 PM until 7 PM, Wednesday 3 PM until 7 PM and Thursday from 9 a.m. until the service at 11 a.m. Survivors include his wife Catalina Contreras Ledesma; Children: Victoria Cervantes Contreras, Maria del Carmen Cervantes Contreras, Martin Cervantes Contreras, Luis Cervantes Contreras; Brother: Jose Luis Cervantes Bravo; Sister: Carolina Cervantes Bravo; 8 Grandchildren also survive.
