80-year-old Robert Earl Winfree of Alexandria passed away Friday at his residence. He was a self-employed mechanic and a member of the Church of God. He served in the 1st Calvary Division of the Army. The funeral will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Chapel of Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Scott Pack will officiate, and burial will be in New Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 4-8 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elvis Winfree and Mae Barrett; brothers, Wesley and James Winfree; and brothers-in-law, Bill Shouse and Letcher Cowan. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Janice Webster Winfree of Alexandria. Children, Keith Winfree of Smithville, Suzanne and Donnie Key of Alexandria, Mark Winfree of Alexandria, and Kevin Winfree of Smithville. Grandchildren, Logan and Rachel Vanatta, Devin Vanatta, D.J.and Katie Key, Rilee Winfree, Laina Winfree, Bailey Winfree, and Brennan Winfree. Great grandchild, Maizey Vanatta. Sisters, Mary Cowan and Lois Shouse. Sisters-in-law, Loretta Winfree and Shirley Winfree. Anderson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Audrey Carol Tucker age 76 of Dowelltown passed away at her residence Tuesday May 24, 2022. She was born May 20, 1946 to her parents the late Clement and Caroline Dargatz Burczyk. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Tucher. She worked as a Supervisor at Hayes Brakes. Ms. Tucker is survived by 2 children, Robert Bruhn of Dowelltown, and Carol Bruhn of Milwaukee, WI; 2 step-children, Julie Tucker-Voeller, and Jodie Tucker- Dahlia; grandchildren, Jennifer Wenther, Darven Bruhn, Toni Bruhn, Nolan Voeller, Kyle Voeller, Vita Marie Dahlia; several great-grandchildren also survive; brother, Roger Burczyk. The family has honored Ms. Tuckers request and chosen direct cremation. There will be no services held. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Sudie Lyndola (Burger) Vickers

Mrs Sudie Lyndola (Burger) Vickers of Liberty was born on April 16, 1930 and went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 24th, 2022. She was raised in the Center Hill Community. She was 92 years old and a member of Sycamore Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Willie Burger, her husband of 58 years, Mr. Hoyte Vickers, her brother, Cecil (Jo) Burger and nephew, Joseph Vickers. She is survived by a sister-in-law, Mrs. Geneva (Vickers) Judkins, nephews, David (Kyoko) Burger of Japan, Anthony (Tammy) Burger, nieces, Gereda Burger and Pamela (Danny Poss) She is also survived by nephews, Ricky (Barbara) Vickers, Hank Vickers, William Vickers, Bobby (Kim) Vickers, niece Jenny (Larry Montgomery) and niece by marriage Wanda Vickers. She is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A graveside service will be held at Sycamore Baptist Church on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at 2 P.M. with Bro. Bertie Ree Harrison age 89 of Alexandria, died Sunday morning, May 22, 2022 at American House Senior Living in Lebanon. Born Oct. 7, 1932 in Statesville, Bertie was the daughter of the late Willie Alvin Robertson and Mildred Lee Turney Robertson. She was a 1950 graduate of Watertown High School and had a long career with Alexandria Bank & Trust, Dekalb County Bank and Union Planters Bank. Bertie was a member of Liberty Hill Presbyterian Church were she served as church treasurer for many years and was an active member of the Alexandria Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Thermon Neal Harrison; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Julie Harrison; grandchildren, Jonathan (Bethany) Harrison, Jacob (Amelia) Harrison and Macy (Evan Potts) Harrison; great grandchildren, Jack, Wade and Banks Harrison; sister, Marjorie (Charles) Lanius; brother-in-law, J.B. Granstaff; nieces and nephews. Bertie was preceded in death by a sister, Eleanor Granstaff; a brother, Wallace Robertson and his wife, Nancy and an infant brother, John Wayman Robertson. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at Hunter Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Diffenderfer officiating. Visitation 4-8 p.m. Monday and prior to services on Tuesday. Pallbearers will be Jonathan and Jacob Harrison, Jeff and Steve Cantrell, Greg Harrison and Paul Stovall. Interment will be at Hillview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Watertown High School Scholarship Fund. Roger Ronald Courtemanche, Jr., age 68 of Smithville,TN, beloved husband of Linda Fayette Courtemanche, passed away at his residence on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at 2:30PM.
Son of the late Roger and Ida T. Brown Courtemanche, Sr, he was born on February 5, 1954 in Rockville, CT. He was a native of Stanley, NC and made Smithville, TN his home the last 16 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sons, Eric Courtemanche and Brian Courtemanche; 3 sisters, Dawn Wilcox, Katherine Gagnon and Mary Kelley and brother-in-law, Daniel Carmody.
Roger was a man of many talents, loved by his family and friends and will be missed by all who knew him. Roger had a great passion for being an entrepreneur, short story writer and loved his pontoon boat fishing. He held numerous jobs such as milkman (his first ever), retail at Sky City, working on an oil rig, an electrician by trade, and overseeing self-owned companies such as his most recent with GMR Facility Maintenance. Roger had many of his own great stories and was devoted to bringing his family together. He was associated with the Smithville Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Fayette Courtemanche of Smithville; daughter, Stephanie Courtemanche (Carla) of North Carolins; step-daughter, Tamara Paulsen of Smithville; 2 step-sons, Paul Fayette and Matthew Fayette both of Smithville; grandchildren, Autumn Courvis, Erica Courtemanche, Joel McCracken, Skyler Fayette, Zaxtin, Celebra and Lela Fayette, Tessa, Giana and Emerson Paulsen; brother, Eugene (Betty) Courtemanche of Cherryville, NC; 2 sisters, Ann Carmody of Tolland, CT and Terri Valente of Vernon, CT; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be at DeKalb Funeral Chapel, 863 S. Congress Blvd, Smithville, TN 37166 on Thursday 10:AM until the time of the service at 11. Services will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2022 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Eric Kuokarni officiating.

William L. “Willie” Cole

74-year-old William L. “Willie” Cole was born August 21, 1947 in Gray, Ky. and passed away May 16, 2022 at Quality Care in Lebanon. Willie was preceded in death by his grandparents that raised him, Will and Mae Frost, his Parents Harold Cole and Annabelle Stanley and his sister, Joann Stone. Willie is survived by his wife of 39 years, Deborah Goss Cole, his children, Tasha (Philip) Waggoner, Derrick Johnson (Kim Cantrell), Sheri Ford, Jerry (Margo) Cole, Toni Cole and Christy Lawson. He is survived by grandchildren, Hagen, Hasten and Haven Waggoner and 11 more grandchildren. He is survived by 7 great-grandchildren. Willie worked for T.V.A. but for a time he was a deputy for the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department and assistant chief at the Alexandria Police Department. He also did block and concrete masonry. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Wilson Williams will officiate and burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1-8 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. until the service at 2 p.m. Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria is in charge of the arrangements.
