Helen Bertie Johnson age 85 of Smithville passed away Tuesday, March 10th, 2020 at Skyline Medical Center. Mrs. Johnson attended Whorton Springs Baptist Church, and was a Homemaker. She was preceded in death by her Husband Jewell Brown Johnson, Parents William Pascal and Patsy Evins Taylor, 2 Sons Doug Johnson and Dwight Cantrell, 2 Brothers James Thomas Paschal and Jimmie Pascal, Sister Willie Pearl Caldwell. Survivors include 4 Sons Dwayne (Barbara) Cantrell of Alexandria, Bennie Cantrell, Jeff Johnson and Terry (Judy) Johnson all of Smithville. 2 Daughters Judy (Tony) Watson of McMinnville and Nita (Joy) Steakley of Coalmont. Several Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Great Great Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins, 1 Brother Shirley Pascal of Smithville.
Funeral Service will be Thursday, March 12th, 2020 1pm at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, with Bro. Mike Carpenter officiating, and burial to follow at Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday 1pm-8pm, and Thursday 10am-1pm. Donations can be made to the Whorton Springs Church Building Fund in memory of Helen. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Jewell Brown Johnson, age 80 of Smithville passed away Sunday, March 8, 2020 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.
He was born July 31, 1939 in Smithville, the son of the late Henry & Opha Summers Johnson. Mr. Johnson was retired from Carrier Corporation and attended the Whorton Springs Baptist Church.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at 1pm from the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Mike Carpenter will officiate with burial to follow at Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday from 1pm-8pm & on Thursday, from 10am until the service time at 1pm.
Mr. Jewel preceded his wife, Mrs. Helen Johnson in death by only 2 days prior to her passing on Tuesday, March 10th. Preceding him in death are his Parents, Henry & Opha Redmon Johnson. Son, Doug Johnson. Step Son, Dwight Cantrell. Brother, Willie Johnson & 2 Sisters, Jo Dean Moore & Doris Braswell. Survivors include 2 Sons, Terry (Judy) Johnson & Jeff Johnson all of Smithville. 4 Step Children, Bennie Cantrell of Smithville, Judy (Tony) Watson of McMinnville, Nita (Joy) Steakley of Coalmont, Dwayne (Barbara) Cantrell of Alexandria. Several Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Great Great Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews & Cousins.
In addition to flowers donations can be made to the Whorton Springs Baptist Church building fund in memory of Mr. Jewel.

Betty Wright Johnson age 83 of Smithville passed away Monday morning March 9, 2020 at her residence. She was born October 15, 1936 to her parents, the late Casto Lester & Beulah Hudson Fowler. She was a retired shirt factory worker and a Baptist. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, John Johnson; 2 Siblings, Willie Vaughn (Gene) Young, Lester (Arline) Fowler. Funeral services for Ms. Johnson will be held 2 P.M. Wednesday at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bros. David Mahan & Mike Carpenter officiating and burial to follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday 2 P.M. until 8 P.M. and Wednesday 10:AM until the time of the service at 2 P.M. Survivors include 3 children, Billy (Angela) Johnson of McMinnville, Pat (Donnie) Cantrell and Johnny Ray (Margaret) Johnson both of Smithville; Grandchildren, Ashley LeFevers, Erica (Jason) Bell, Elicia (Kenneth) Kinnaird, Josh Johnson, Heather Lankford; Great-Grandchildren, Braelyn & Bentley LeFevers, Ensley Kinnaird, Logan Johnson, Colten Lankford, Jayden Johnson, Sadie, Chevelle & Bentley Judkins; Sisters-in-law, Josephine Cantrell & Helen Poss; Special Family: Eddy Glenn (Stephanie) Driver, Shelby & Saleen; Several nieces and nephews also survive. Ledia Jean Nokes age 63 of Smithville, passed away Saturday night March 7, 2020 at Generations of Spencer in Spencer Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter, Shyanna Nicole Knight. Ms Ledia worked at Federal Mogul and was homemaker. She is survived by, the love of her life and life partner of 23 years, Albert Knight of Spencer; She is also survived by children, Sandra Knight of Smithville, Sue (Jose) Knight of Clarksville, Bradly (Monica) Knight of Erin, TN, James Knight of Clarksville, Angel (Joe) Knight of Clarksville, Maverick Nokes, Carl Nokes, Melanie Nokes, Sasha Nokes, Lance Nokes; grandchildren, Navaya Knight, Chris (DeAna) Gibbs, Anna Knight, Katelyn Knight, Romeo Knight, Dillon Johnson, Clayton Knight, Madison Knight, Tierra Knight, Heaven Austin, Danny Austin, Kimora Austin; great-grandchildren, Ayden Gibbs, Addison Gibbs. Funeral services will be held Tuesday March 10, 2020 at 3 P.M. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Michael Hale and Sue Knight officiating with burial to follow in DeKalb Cemetery. Margie Juanita McGinness Donalson age 95 of McMinnville, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at Woodbury Health and Rehab. She was born September 17, 1924 to her parents, the late Eld. Henry Edward and Myrtle Jones Young. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Dennis McGinness and Virgil Donalson; 2 brothers, Marvin and Willy G. Young and sister, Betty Jean Young. Juanita was a member of the New Bildad Primitive Baptist Church and retired from River Park Hospital as the charge cook in the dietary department. She leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Carolyn (Toby) Cantrell of Smithville; son, Kenneth (Sharon) McGinness of Smyrna; 7 grandchildren, Jamie (Andrew) Cantrell of Sparta, Teresa Cantrell and Lisa (Dustin) Prater both of Smithville, Kendra (Christopher) Estes of Smyrna, Keith Huff of Smyrna, Kraig (Ana) Huff of Carlsbad< CA and Krista of Vista, CA; 14 great-grandchildren, Sarah (Ricardo) Torres, Hannah (Caleb) Johnson< Isaac Cantrell, Zachary Atnip, Peyton Atnip, Lauren Hale, Maddie Prater, Dillon Estes, Mackenzie Estes, Jackson Estes, Bailey Jo Huff, Kolby Huff, Dayja and Marcello; 1 great-great-grandson, RJ Torres; 1 sister, Maureen Gillette of Dibrell; 3 brothers, Charles (Barbara) Young and Jimmy (Marlene) Young both of Dibrell and Gerald (Lee) Young of Florida; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be 2 P.M. Monday, March 9, 2020 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Elder Joseph Arnold officiating and burial will follow at New Bildad Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday 1 P.M. until 6 P.M. and Monday 10:AM until the time of the service at 2 P.M. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to help with funeral expenses, in memory of Ms. Juanita. Dr. Richard Loren Jones age 91 of Smithville, passed away Thursday morning, March 5, 2020 at NHC HealthCare Center in Smithville. He was born November 9, 1928 in Pana, IL to his parents, the late Harold Vernon and Helen Kay Grossman Jones. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Charles V. Jones. Dr. Jones practiced in Cowden, Illinois until his retirement in 1969 at which time he and his family moved to Arizona and where he served as Student Health Administrator at ASU. He was a member of the Dry Creek Baptist Church and a U.S. Army Veteran having served in Korea. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Delores Jones of Smithville; 2 children, Richard Reed Jones of Crossville and Janet (Kevin) Felts of Tullahoma; 1 grandson, Trent Jones of Knoxville and 1 great-granddaughter, Nora Jones. The family has chosen a direct cremation and a Memorial Service will be held 5:PM Sunday March 15, 2020 at Dry Creek Baptist Church with Bro. Donald Owens officiating. Visitation with the family will be on Sunday 3:PM until the time of the service at 5:PM at the Church. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
