Joyce Ann Hale

Joyce Ann Hale age 79 of Smithville passed away Wednesday September 8, 2021 at her residence. She was born May 1, 1942 to her parents, the late Virgil Lee and Callie Fuson Wilson. She worked at Middle Tennessee Natural Gas for many years. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother: Don Wilson; niece: Tina Young. Funeral Services for Ms. Joyce will be held 1 PM Friday at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Michael Hale officiating and burial to follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be Thursday 4 PM until 7 PM and Friday 9:AM until the time of the service at 1 PM. Survivors include 2 children: Craig (Patricia) Hale, Chrystal Hale both of Smithville; Grandchildren: Elizabeth Chalfant, Christen (Charles) Cox, Nicholas Hale, DaKoda Eaton; Great Grandchildren: Aviannca Chalfant, Marquez Chalfant, McKenna Miller, Aniston and Bristol Cox; Sister: Paulette Mooneyham of Smithville; Aunts: Robbie Young and Nell Young both of McMinnville; Niece: Kandy Mooneyham; Nephew: Mark Wilson. Due to Covid, our lounge is Closed at this time and NO food or drinks are allowed in the funeral home. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.




Kathleen Smith

September 7, 2021

82 year old Kathleen Smith of Alexandria died Monday at her residence. She was a homemaker and member of the West Main Baptist Church. The funeral will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the West Main Baptist Church. Dusty Desimone will officiate and burial will be in Hillview Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-8 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home and Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at West Main Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ridley H. Fleming and Cordie Speck Fleming and husband Robert (Bob) Smith. She is survived by a daughter, Connie and husband Donnie Stroud of Alexandria. Anderson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.




McKenna James Lawrence

McKenna James Lawrence the 10 week old infant daughter of Andrew & Holly Lawrence gained her wings Monday September 6, 2021. She was preceded in death by aunt: Holly Michelle Lawrence; Cousin: James Hurst; Great Grandfather: Dale Chaffin; Great Grandparents: Schuyler & Frances Hendrixson & Hollis Harrold. Her family attends Locust Street Church of God. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her twin sister: Paisley Michelle Lawrence; Maternal Grandparents: Julia & Scott Tayes of Cookeville, Steve & Lisa Baugh of Allons; Paternal Grandparents: Tony & Lori Lawrence of Smithville; Great Grandparents: Mertie Lawrence of Smithville, Joann Chaffin of Cookeville, Larry & Debbie Fults of Morrison; Maternal Great Grandmother: Barbara Tayes of Monterey; Several aunts, uncles & cousins also survive. Funeral services for McKenna will be held 4 PM Thursday at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Jeff Page officiating and burial to follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be Thursday 2 PM until the time of the service at 4 PM. In addition to flowers, the family ask that donations be made to help with Funeral Cemetery expenses. Due to COVID, the funeral home lounge is closed and NO food or drinks are allowed in the funeral home. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.




Rodney Dale Driver

September 7, 2021

Mr. Rodney Dale Driver age 68 of McMinnville, TN passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at St. Thomas Hospital West in Nashville, TN.

Mr. Driver was born on November 18, 1953 in Smithville, TN to his father the late Bernie Driver & his mother, Clara Sandlin Driver. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his 2 brothers, Donnie Driver & Jeloy Driver. He had worked for Colonial Freight as a Truck Driver.

The family has chosen cremation with a memorial service being planned for a later time.

Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Rosa Green Driver of McMinnville, TN. Son, Beau Driver of FL. Grandchildren, Lennox Driver and Ryan Driver both of CO, Autumn Yates of Cookeville, TN & Aaron Yates of Auburntown, TN. Mother, Clara Sandlin Driver of McMinnville, TN. Step Children, Amber Farless of Auburntown, TN & Jennifer Harell of McMinnville, TN.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations please be made to the funeral home to help with final expenses.

Anderson Lee Orchard

Anderson Lee Orchard the 6 week old infant son of Donny and Elisha Anderson Orchard of Smithville, gained his angel wings Sunday morning September 5, 2021. He was preceded in death by maternal grandmothers, Judy Anderson and Nina Chapman and great-uncle, Kyle Melton. His family attends the Temple Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is survived b big brother, Michael Grayson Orchard of Smithville; maternal grandparents, Eddie and Lisa Anderson of Smithville; aunt, Emilee Anderson of Smithville; great-aunts and uncles, Tony (Samantha) Vanatta, Eric (Tammy) Vanatta and Krissy Vanatta; great-great-aunts and uncles, Peggy (Kenneth) Cantrell, Jackie Jones and Patricia McCormick and several cousins also survive. Funeral services will be 11:AM Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Shannon Cantrell officiating and burial will follow in Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday 4 PM until 7 PM and Wednesday 9:AM until the time of the service at 11:AM. In addition to flowers, the family asks that donations be made to either Project Heart or The Brett Boyer Foundation, in memory of Little Anderson. Evie Sue Walker

Evie Sue Walker age 83 of Smithville passed away Sunday morning, September 5, 2021 at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro. She was born February 25, 1938 to her parents, the late Lesley and Lucal Simmons. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Walker; grandparents, Mary Blackburn, Lige Simmons and Bithie Crosslin; sisters, Bessie MaCory, Hope Simmons; brothers, Jerry, Donnie, Robert, James, Russell and Gerald. She was a retired factory worker and a Baptist. She leaves to cherish her memory, 7 children, Betty Neal, Rebecca Crank, Norma Neal, Judy Highsmith, Sandra Neal, Leon Neal and Jeff Neal; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sisters, Shelia McCumbers, Marrie Brandon and Mary Jane Smith and brother, Randy Simmons; several nieces and nephews and her CNA, Peggy Tramel. Funeral services will be 10:AM Thursday, September 9, 2021 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Tony Smith officiating and burial will follow in Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday 4 PM until 7 PM and Thursday 9:AM until the time of the service at 10:AM. The funeral home lounge is closed at this time and no food or drinks are allowed in the funeral home. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
