David Wayne Pinegar

David Wayne Pinegar, age 53 of McMinnville Tn. died Sunday October 6th, 2019 at his residence. Mr. Pinegar attended Church of Christ, was a Nurseryman, and Truck Driver. He was preceded in death by Sister Debra Dunn and Percy Pinegar, III. Survivors include Parents Percy and Nancy Pinegar, 3 Sons; Christopher Pinegar, Jessie and Tish Pinegar, and Dylan and Crystal Lee all of McMinnville. 5 Grandchildren, 3 Brothers; Percy Jr. and Rhodessa Pinegar of Keltonburg, Charles and Melissa Pinegar, and Johnny Pinegar. A Sister Cindy and Jimmy Beacham all of McMinnville, Special Nephew Issac Pinegar, and several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins also survive.

Funeral Services for David Wayne Pinegar will be Wednesday October 9th, 2019 2PM at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home with burial at Webb Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday 12PM till 8PM, and Wednesday 10AM till service time at 2PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Love-Cantrell Funeral Home to help with burial expenses. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.




Helen Rose Rutland

October 4, 2019

Helen Rose Rutland age 66 of Alexandria, died Tuesday morning, Oct. 1, 2019 at Vanderbilt-Wilson Hospital in Lebanon. Born Feb. 12, 1953 in Smith County, she was the daughter of the late Priest and Layuna Stokes Rutland. Helen is survived by her husband, Tim Bates of Alexandria; daughter, Francene Abston of Smithville; son, Mardain Rutland of Lebanon; grandchildren, Kristain, Courtney and Jazmin Abston; sister, Martha Notie Winfrey of Nashville; nieces and nephews. Helen was preceded in death by 4 brothers, James, William, Lee Ray and Priest Rutland, Jr. and  5 sisters, Kathrine Corder, Mary Emma Winfrey, Lula Ann Eddins, Frances Gaines and Laura Manning. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, 2019 at Hunter Funeral Home in Watertown. Visitation will be on Friday from Noon till service time.




Rita Fay Taylor

October 4, 2019

53 year old Rita Fay Taylor of Smithville passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2019, at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro.  She was a Baptist and a homemaker.  Visitation with the family will be at the Love-Cantrell Chapel on Saturday from 11:00 am until 8:00 pm and on Sunday from 10:00 am until time of the service at 2:00 pm.  Burial will follow in the Whorton Springs Cemetery.

Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her father, Norval Caldwell; mother, Alma Jean Shehane Swofford; Step-father, Doug Swofford; and Brother, Jackie Caldwell.  She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Jimmie Taylor of Smithville; daughter, Heather and Kevin Williams of Smithville; Step-son, Roger and Shonda Taylor of McMinnville; Grandchildren, Beth and Belle Reed of Smithville, Christian and Kendra Taylor of McMinnville, and Casey Taylor of McMinnville; Brother, Adam and Sue Caldwell of Smithville; Sisters, Eva and Carl Bandy and Frances and Tommy Cates, all of Smithville;  Several Brothers-in-Law, Sisters-in-Law, Nieces, Nephews and Friends also survive.

Bernie Brazle

October 3, 2019

Bernie Brazle age 79 of McMinnville, passed away Thursday morning October 3, 2019 at NHC of McMinnville. He was born to parents April 14,1940 the late Hershal and Hazzie Hoover Braswell . In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Gail Potter; great -granddaughter, Evelyn Brazle. He was a Mason for 50 years and a longtime member of the Shriners and served in the Tennessee National Guard. Mr. Brazle was the manger of Lays 5 & 10 Store also worked for the City of McMinnville and was a member of Blues Hill Church of Christ. He is survived by his children, Joyce (Shane) Hollis of McMinnville, and Nathan Brazle of McMinnville; grandchildren, Nicole Simpson, Candace Hollis, Holly Potter, Krisann Parks, Megan Brazle, Lily Brazle, Isabella Sevier, Easton Brazle; great-grandchildren, Cody Simpson, Gage Simpson, Lakelyn Simpson, Brayden Hollis, Asa Jones, Asher Jones, Bently Parks, Savannah Parks, Skyler Brazle, Alexis Sevier; Sisters, Faye Reed, Louise Foster, and Martha Parker; brother, Ray (JoAnn) Brazle; girlfriend, Joan Nave, special care giver, Sandy Collins. Funeral services will be 2 p.m.  Sunday October 6, 2019 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro, David Gilley officiating and burial will be in Blues Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Sunday 10:AM until the time of the service at 2 p.m. There will be a Masonic Service on Saturday 6 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.



Elias Aldric Atnip

October 2, 2019

Elias Aldric Atnip the 22 month old son of Eric and Beth Atnip, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 30, 2019. He was born November 11, 2017 in Nashville. Elias was preceded in death by grandmothers, Jamye Atnip and Lori Atnip; great-grandparents, Sammy Bain, Browder and Jean Hutson; uncle, Chris Young. His home church was New Life United Pentecostal Church. In addition to his parents, he is survived by 3 siblings, Savory Ike Brown, Nevaeh Elizabeth Brown and Joshua Wyatt Atnip; maternal grandparents, Darryl and Kim Young of Smithville and Jeff and Younghee Hutson of Georgia; paternal grandfather, Dennis Atnip of Smithville; great-grandparents, Mary and Albert Colwell of Smithville, Jimmie and Gayle Goolsby of Smithville, George and Nancy Beckley of Liberty, Boyd and Immogene Atnip of Smithville; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and his special friends, all his nurses and medical staff that have loved and cared for him. Funeral services will be 2 PM Friday, October 4, 2019 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Jordan Atnip and Bro. Randy Pedigo officiating and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens with Bro. Dwayne Cornelius officiating. Visitation with the family will be on Friday 10:AM until the time of the service at 2 PM. Gladys Frances Marr

54 year old Gladys Frances Marr of Smithville passed away Tuesday at her residence. She was employed at Tenneco Automotive. The funeral will be at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home Saturday at 3 p.m.. Terry Fesler will officiate and burial will follow in Hodges Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4-8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until the funeral.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Freddy Brown Taylor and Reba Linder Phiffer and two brothers Jerry Lee and Eddie Leroy Taylor. She is survived by her husband, Jimmie Marr; two daughters, Latonia Taylor and Johnathan Lawson and Shondrell and Bruce Maples all of Smithville. Special daughter, Devon Truett of Watertown. Six grandchildren, Haley Nichols, Briston Anderson, Tacoma and Lyllie Maples all of Smithville and Adrian Simmons and Jaythan Truett both of Watertown.
