Jason Ray Sifford

Jason Ray Sifford age 42 of Bellevue passed away Monday December 30, 2024, at his residence. He was born July 31, 1982, to his parents, Ronald “Ron” Dean & Patricia “Patsy” Ray Utter Sifford. He was a US Navy Veteran working as an Aviation Tech, a member of New Life UPC Smithville and attended New Life UPC Maine. Jason was preceded in death by his grandparents: Rev. Carl & Carolyn Sifford, Lee & Madeline Utter; Uncles: Pete Sifford, Calvin Sifford, Kieth Utter & Terry Utter and friends in faith. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 PM Saturday January 4, 2025, at New Life Pentecostal Church with Bro. Dwayne Cornelius officiating. Visitation with the family will be 12 PM until the time of the memorial service at 2 PM. Survivors include his wife Stephani Renee Sifford of Nashville; Parents: Ron & Patsy Sifford of Smithville; Brother: Brandon (Racheal) Sifford of Fairbanks, Alaska; Sister: Kendra (Jamie) McClure of Tullahoma; Brother: Josh (Bobbie Jo) Williams; Father-in-law & Mother-in-law: Steve & Gwen Williams of Smithville; Nieces & Nephews: Taydem Addison, Dakota Sifford, Austin White, Ronnie White, Windy White, Isabella Williams, Braylon Williams; Jason was also well loved by a host of Aunts, Uncles & Cousins. Judy Annie Pollard

Judy Annie Pollard, age 67, passed away Saturday morning, December 28, 2024 at her residence in McMinnville. She was retired from Vaughn’s nursery and attended Bates Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

She was born on October 8, 1957 in DeKalb County to her parents, the late Billy Neal and Betty Pearl Hodges Phifer. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Becky Pollard.

Visitation with the Pollard family will be on Monday from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home and Tuesday from 10:00 until the service time at 11:00 am at Spring Hill Baptist Church of Christ in Walling. Bro. Robby Black will officiate and burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Survivors in her husband of 50 years, Kelly Pollard of McMinnville; daughter, Jessica (Robby) Black of McMinnville; 2 sons, Eric Pollard and Isaih Pollard both of McMinnville; 6 grandchildren, Chris (Jayme) Thrower, Anna (Alyc) Simmons, Rebecca Lance and Alton Womack all of McMinnville, Cain Pollard of Nashville and Isaac Pollard of Rhode Island; 4 great-grandchildren; Cooper Knox, Colton Kye, Aubree Hope, and Haisleigh Rein Thrower;1 brother, Billy Neal of Woodbury; 1 sister, Dean (Roger) Denson of Cookeville; bro-in-law, Robert Pollard and sister-in-law, Ruetta Pollard both of Smithville.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations please be made to the funeral home to help with burial expenses.

Thelma Dean Allen

December 29, 2024

Thelma Dean Allen age 91 of Liberty passed away Saturday morning December 28, 2024, at NHC Healthcare of Cookeville. She was born October 15, 1933, to her parents the late Rob and Gracie Parkerson Crook. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Allen. Ms. Allen was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church and worked at the Shirt Factory for over 40 years. She is survived by son, Albert (Bonnie) Allen of Liberty; niece, Mary Nokes (Larry) Robinson of Liberty; cousins, Margie Smith of Smithville, and Mary Nell Paris of Murfreesboro; fur babies, Pete and Sadie. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Tuesday December 31, 2024, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Michael Hale officiating and burial in DeKalb Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday 3 PM until 7 PM and Tuesday 10:AM until the time of the service at 1 PM. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Dr. Cripps and Staff and to NHC Healthcare of Cookeville for the love and care shown Mrs. Allen. James Cooper

James Cooper age, 60 passed away Tuesday December 24, 2024, at his residence. He was born September 15, 1964, to his parents, Matthew and Jackie May Cooper. He was preceded in death by a stepson: Jeremy Ray Ferrell; sister: Bertha Cooper; brother: Joseph Cooper; grandparents: Seymour and Pearl Cooper, and James and Bertha May. Mr. Cooper was a Christian and a Truck Driver for Canco. He is survived by his wife Ethel Cooper of McMinnville; stepsons: Jonathan (Angelia) Ferrell of Smithville and Steven (Amanda) Ferrell of Smithville; extra children: Chris (Tori) South and Justin Braswell; grandchildren: Shaun West, Linda West, Ellabeth Ferrell, Colton Ferrell, C. J. South, Summer South, Brooklyn South; siblings: Jeffery (Melissa) Cooper, JoAnn (Randy) Zelker, and Jason Cooper all of West VA.; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many other family and friends also survive; special friends: Glenn “Cotton” and Trish Bogle. Graveside services and burial will be held 2 PM Monday December 30, 2024, at Beach Hill Cemetery in Gassaway with Bro. Michael Hale officiating. There will not be any visitation or services held at the funeral home. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is honored to care for the Cooper family.




Ronald Jay Carter

Ronald Jay Carter age 69 of Smithville, passed away Wednesday December 25, 2024, at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro. He was born September 21, 1955, to his parents, Rubbie Carter and the late R.J. Carter. He was retired from Carrier Corp. and a member of Mt. Herman Baptist Church. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by wife Debra Carter. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Sunday at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Steve Keaton officiating and burial to follow in the Peeled Chestnut Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Saturday 2 PM until 6 PM and Sunday 10:AM until the time of the service at 2 PM. Survivors include Daughter: Jayme (Nathan) Dowell of Smithville; Son: Ronald Joshua Carter of Smithville; Grandchildren: Ryan Carter, Ethan Carter, Izayah Dowell, Kylynn Dowell; Mother: Rubbie Carter of Smithville; Sister: Lynn (Larry) Eaton of Smithville; Nephew: Hugh (Chassity) Eaton of Smithville; Great niece: Allie Eaton. Jimmy Walker

December 27, 2024

Jimmy Walker, age 76 of Smithville, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2024 at NHC in Smithville. He was retired from Star Mfg.  He attended Covenant Baptist Church where he also loved playing his guitar. He enjoyed walking, working in and picking his blueberries and playing his guitar with his friends at the County Complex.

Mr. Walker was born on October 23, 1948 in Livingston, TN. He is preceded in death by his parents; Odos and Illa Mae Walker.

Visitation with the Walker family will be on Sunday from 10:30 until funeral time at 2:00 in the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Bobby Thomason and Bro. Darrell Gill will officiate. Burial will follow in DeKalb Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years; Annie “Susie” Bain Walker, brother, Wayne (Linda) Walker, nieces; Lisa (Dewey) Peterson, Leann (Jason) Miller, Jennifer Ritter, Samantha (Billy) Phillips, brothers-in-law; Cleveland (Diane) Bain, Harold Bain, Earlie Bain, sisters-in-law; Helen Moore and Pauline Braswell, special nephews; Jimmy (Amanda) Bain, Clayton Moore and Hunter Moore.
