Lee Eugene Brooks age 76, passed away Sunday May 29, 2022 at his residence in Brush Creek. He was born December 25, 1945 to his parents, the late Billie Buck and Gertrude Sol Brooks. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Alexander Presley; sisters Karen Murdock, and Jeanne Henson; brother, Pasquel Cleveland. He was of the Pentecostal faith and worked Restored Antiques and Classic Cars. Mr. Brooks is survived by his wife, Janet Elaine “Charlie” Brooks of Brush Creek; daughter, April Ford of Brush Creek; grandchildren, Hadley Nicks, Hayden Nicks, Maddux Presley. The family has honored Mr. Brooks request to be cremated. No services are planned. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Reba June Ashburn

85-year-old Reba June Ashburn of Smithville passed away Thursday morning at her son’s residence. She was a member of the Smithville Church of Christ. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Brother Dan Gulley will officiate and burial will be in the Ponder-Burton Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m.
Mrs. Ashburn was preceded in death by her parents Maude and Amon Parsley, husband Don Ashburn, sister and brother-in-law Edith and Billy Adcock, sister-in-law Peggy Richardson and granddaughter, Leslie Ashburn Houchin. Survivors include two sons, Ronald and Tammy Ashburn of Smithville, and Lyndon and Deborah Ashburn of Dowelltown; granddaughter, Stacy Winfree (Fiancé’ Howie Rose) of Smithville; two great grandchildren, Rilee Winfree (Matt Agee) and Laina Winfree of Smithville.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Smithville Church of Christ Day School.
Sherri Ann Young

Sherri Ann Young age 68, of Smithville, passed away Tuesday night, May 31, 2022 at U. T. Medical Center in Knoxville. She was born August 14, 1953 to her parents, Mabel Glenn Young and the late J. T. Young. Ms. Young was a life time member of AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary, Elmwood Tennessee Post 389 and worked at Star Manufacturing. She is survived by her mother, Mabel Young of Smithville; children, Mark Mason and Chrystal Mason both of Smithville; grandchildren, D. J. Mason, Renny Godfrey, Michelle Mason; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Mason, Waylon Mason; brother, Tony Young of Smithville; sister, Shirley Burrage. The family has honored Ms. Young’s request to be cremated. A private service will be held at a later date. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Margie V. Robinson

92-year-old Margie V. Robinson of Liberty passed away Saturday at the Webb House Retirement Center. She was a homemaker and a member of Salem Baptist Church. The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Salem Baptist Church. Don Mathis will officiate, and burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 3-7 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home and Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Robert Smithson and Minnie Mai Parker; her husband, Truitt Robinson; and siblings, Elzie, Calvin, Jessie Mai, and Olen Smithson. Survivors include children, Vickie and Mike Williams of Alexandria; Donna and Jim Arnette of Smyrna; and Phil and Susan Robinson of Liberty. Grandchildren, Tara and Joe Beck of Madison, Wisconsin, Bryan Evans of Rockvale, Gwen and Clay Dyer of Murfreesboro, Lauren and Travis Keeton of Soddy Daisy, and Caitlin and Kalahan Potter of Lebanon. Great grandchildren Alex, Miri, Aaron, Ethan, Lydia Beck, Collin, Drew, Nate Dyer, Lilly Belle, Brooks, Hudson Keeton, Lexi, Knox Potter and several nieces and nephews. Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria is charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations in her name be given to Salem Cemetery Fund or to the Autism Society of Middle Tennessee.
Robert Earl Winfree

80-year-old Robert Earl Winfree of Alexandria passed away Friday at his residence. He was a self-employed mechanic and a member of the Church of God. He served in the 1st Calvary Division of the Army. The funeral will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Chapel of Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Scott Pack will officiate, and burial will be in New Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 4-8 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elvis Winfree and Mae Barrett; brothers, Wesley and James Winfree; and brothers-in-law, Bill Shouse and Letcher Cowan. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Janice Webster Winfree of Alexandria. Children, Keith Winfree of Smithville, Suzanne and Donnie Key of Alexandria, Mark Winfree of Alexandria, and Kevin Winfree of Smithville. Grandchildren, Logan and Rachel Vanatta, Devin Vanatta, D.J.and Katie Key, Rilee Winfree, Laina Winfree, Bailey Winfree, and Brennan Winfree. Great grandchild, Maizey Vanatta. Sisters, Mary Cowan and Lois Shouse. Sisters-in-law, Loretta Winfree and Shirley Winfree. Anderson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Audrey Carol Tucker age 76 of Dowelltown passed away at her residence Tuesday May 24, 2022. She was born May 20, 1946 to her parents the late Clement and Caroline Dargatz Burczyk. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Tucher. She worked as a Supervisor at Hayes Brakes. Ms. Tucker is survived by 2 children, Robert Bruhn of Dowelltown, and Carol Bruhn of Milwaukee, WI; 2 step-children, Julie Tucker-Voeller, and Jodie Tucker- Dahlia; grandchildren, Jennifer Wenther, Darven Bruhn, Toni Bruhn, Nolan Voeller, Kyle Voeller, Vita Marie Dahlia; several great-grandchildren also survive; brother, Roger Burczyk. The family has honored Ms. Tuckers request and chosen direct cremation. There will be no services held. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
