Oma Frances Taylor

Oma Frances Taylor age 101 of Smithville passed away Tuesday October 29, 2019 at her residence. She was born November 18, 1917 to her parents, the late Isaac Yates & Hattie Jewel (Bell) Tisdale Taylor. She was a retired garment factory worker and a member of Indian Creek Memorial Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Firman L. Taylor; Sisters: Myrtle Taylor, Elsie Lamberson, Ruby Mullican, Clara Nixon, Julie Ervin, her twin Ona Durham, Audrey Snyder; Brothers: Dan, Roy, Johnnie, Bob & Joe Taylor; Several nieces & nephews. Funeral service will be held 1:PM Friday November 1, 2019 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Ric Lee officiating and burial to follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be Thursday 1:PM until 6:PM and Friday 10:AM until time of service at 1:PM. Survivors include Son: Harold (Melise) Taylor of Alabama; Daughter: Mary Spencer of Smithville; Grandchildren: Denise Spencer Patton, Darrell (Teresa) Spencer of Smithville; Great-Grandchildren: Justin Patton & Allison Patton both of Smithville, Caleb Spencer of Smyrna; Sisters-in-law & Brothers-in-law: Helen Taylor Cook, Hazel Taylor Johnson, Georgia Ridout all of Smithville, Jorene (Glenn) Thompson of Oklahoma, Gene (Mary) Taylor of Statesville & Donald (Debbie) Taylor of Greenvale; Numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews also survive. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

88 year old Thomas Gray Webb of Smithville passed away Tuesday at the Webb House. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. He was also a retired teacher of 44 years. The funeral will be Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Isaac Gray and Dan Gulley will officiate and burial will be in Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 11 a.m. until the service at 2 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Benton (TB) and Gladys Gray Webb. He is survived by his wife of 42 years Audrey Turner Webb; special nephew, Brad and Dana Turner; and two special great nephews, Nathan Turner and Jacob and Courtney Turner all of Smithville. Brother, Dr. Kenneth and Faye Webb of Pulaski. Two nieces, Martha Gray and Alonzo Guess of Nashville, Sarah and Scott Stewart of Pulaski, great niece Maggie Guess of Nashville, and a great nephew Webb Stewart of Pulaski. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Webb requested that no flowers or food be sent but instead anyone who wishes to may donate to the Whorton Springs Cemetery fund or to the charity of your choice.

Bobby Charles Martin Sr, 79, passed away suddenly Sunday, October 27, 2019 at his home. He was a native of DeKalb County, TN.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey Brown Martin of Liberty; sons, Charles (Denise) Martin of Erin TN & Terry Martin of Smithville; Step-children, Allen Ashford of DeKalb County, Dana (Chris) Stanley of Gassaway; Grandchildren, Joshua (Alexia) Martin, Chasity (Joel) Parker, Emma Leigh Fletcher, Caleb Gingerich, Elizabeth Stanley, Seth Stanley, Rachel Patterson, & John Daniel Patterson. Also surviving are a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James H. Martin and Pauline Davis Martin; wife, Julana Alcorn Martin; Step-daughter, Gidget Ashford Patterson; and Brother, Thomas Larry Martin.
Bobby was a former pastor of Clear Fork United Methodist Church, a former school bus driver for DeKalb County for 49 years, and a supervisor at Dowelltown Water Plant.
Bobby served in the Army and the Army National Guard. He was a Mason with DeKalb Lodge and enjoyed genealogy and Indian Artifacts.
Funeral Services will be 2 PM Tuesday, October 29 at Clear Fork United Methodist Church with Bro. Tommy Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Salem Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Monday, October 28 4 PM to 8 PM at Woodbury Funeral Home and 10 AM until time of service Tuesday at Clear Fork United Methodist Church.

James Forrest Young age 57, better known as “F” passed away Sunday October 27, 2019 at his residence. He was born November 2, 1961 to his parents the late, Forrest Conger & Nettie Alice Vanhooser Young. He was a truck driver for the DeKalb Co. Highway Department and attended Smithville Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters: Teresa Ann Young Cowen, Mary Jane Bretz & Sonya Renea Young Clark. Funeral services will be held 3 PM Wednesday October 30, 2019 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Jim Moore officiating and burial to follow in DeKalb Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday 3 PM until 8 PM and Wednesday 11:AM until the time of service at 3 PM. Thomas Earl Prichard, 76, of Alexandria, TN, passed away Saturday, October 26, 2019.
He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and brother who cared deeply about his entire family and followed the teachings of Jesus Christ in all of his life’s work.
Mr. Prichard was born December 4, 1942, in Lebanon, TN. Son of the late Elmer Earl and Freda Rose Avant Prichard, he was married to Marlene Scott in 1964. A graduate of Liberty High School in 1960, he received an Associate’s Degree from Cumberland University and also attended MTSU. He was a devoted member of West Main Baptist Church in Alexandria, TN.
Mr. Prichard is survived by his wife, Marlene Scott Prichard of Alexandria, TN; daughter, Beth (John) Geer of Brentwood, TN; son, Scott (Megan) Prichard of Magnolia, TX; grandchildren, Fredric Alpert, Olivia Alpert, Tyler Prichard, and Morgan Prichard; two brothers: Charles (Brenda) Prichard of Brush Creek, TN and Mike (Kaye) Prichard of Alexandria, TN; sister, Kayla (Chuck) Youngquist of Lebanon, TN; aunt: Violet Davenport of Lebanon, TN; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Prichard will be conducted on Tuesday, October 29th, at 1 pm at West Main Baptist Church in Alexandria, TN. Brother Dusty Disimone will be officiating. Interment will follow at the Hillview Cemetery in Alexandria, TN.
Visitation with the Prichard family will be at Avant Funeral Home in Alexandria, TN, on Monday October 28, 2019 from 5 pm until 8 pm. On Tuesday October 29, 2019 the Prichard family will receive friends at the West Main Baptist Church in Alexandria, TN from 11:30 am until the service starts at 1 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The West Main Baptist Church Kitchen Committee.
