Ione H. Keith

June 5, 2019

92 year old Ione H. Keith of Smithville went home to be with the Lord on June 5. She was born February 3, 1927 to her parents, the late Charlie and Bonnie Haynes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, W.J. Keith; son, Randy Keith; and sister, Freda Cantrell. The funeral will be Friday at 3 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Chad Ramsey will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday from 3-8 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. until the service at 3 p.m. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and worked as a secretary most of her life. She is survived by her son, Jeff (Kimmie) Keith of McMinnville; three grandchildren, Virginia (Robert) Oaks of McMinnville, Tabitha (John) Farmer and Alex Keith of Smithville. Six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. In addition to flowers, donations may be made to the Smithville First Baptist Church in her memory.




Linda S. Pryor

June 4, 2019

Linda S. Pryor,71 of Clyde passed away unexpectedly at Haywood Regional Hospital on Saturday, June 1, 2019 surrounded by her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dillard Petty and Ina Williams Brindley; sister, Barbara Tittle; niece, Bambi Mabeus and her great granddaughter, Charlotte Mae Greenhouse.

Linda is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Bruce Pryor; daughter, Devona (Michael) McDaniel and Shonna Mabeus; one son-in-law, Jordan Price; grandchildren, Michael McDaniel II and Hayley Greenhouse; great granddaughter, Shayley Greenhouse.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM, Tuesday, June 4, 2019, Smoky Mountain Chapel with Jimmy Greene officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A private family burial will take place on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at noon at Petty Cemetery in Smithville, TN.




Lois Hilderman

June 4, 2019

Lois Hilderman age 78 of Smithville, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday June 2, 2019. She was born July 29, 1940 to her parents, the late Clifton and Eva Mae Lewis McDuff. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Hilderman; son, Michael Stanley Hilderman and 3 brothers, John McDuff, Coleman McDuff and Roger McDuff. She was a member of New Life United Pentecostal Church and worked in food service for most of her life. She is survived by 3 children, Wendell Hilderman of McMinnville, Judy Howard of Okeechobee, FL and Bobby (Cindy) Hilderman of Columbia, IN; 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Martha (Bobby) Wheeler of Smithville and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services celebrating Lois’s life will be 2:PM Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Dwayne Cornelius officiating and burial will follow in DeKalb Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday 3:PM until 7:PM and Wednesday 10:AM until the time of the service at 2:PM. In addition to flowers, the family asks that donations be made to New Life United Pentecostal Church, in memory of Lois. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.




Gary Ray Bedwell

Gary Ray Bedwell, age 72 of Smithville and a native of Woodbury, passed away Saturday June 1, 2019 at NHC HealthCare in Smithville. He was born June 5, 1946 to his parents, the late Floyd and Margaret Bucey Bedwell. He was of the Baptist faith and a carnival worker. He is survived by siblings, Ronnie Bedwell of Woodbury, Carol Petry of Murfreesboro and Betty Bynum of Woodbury. Mr. Bedwell has been cremated and no services are planned. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.




Bessie Leona Blevins

Bessie Leona Blevins age 65 of Smithville passed away Wednesday May 29, 2019 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro.  She was born July 31, 1953 to her parents, the late John Wesley and Jewell Skinner Lee.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God of Prophecy.  In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by 3 sisters: Fay, Barbara Jean and Bertha.  Funeral services will be held 11:AM Monday June 3, 2019 at the Cumberland Valley Funeral Home in Cumberland, Kentucky with Bro. Glenn Cornett officiating and burial to follow in Sumpter Memorial Gardens in Gordon, Kentucky.  Visitation with the family will be held Sunday 3:PM until 6:PM and Monday 9:AM until the time of the service at 11:AM at Cumberland Valley Funeral Home.  Survivors include her husband Billy Blevins of Smithville; Daughters: Linda Blevins (Mike) Gibbs of Partridge, Ky., Christy Blevins of Calvin, Ky.; Grandchildren: Christopher (Deidre) Gibbs of Georgetown, Ky., Andrew Rice of Calvin, Ky.; Great Granddaughter: Kimber Lynn Gibbs; Brothers: Joe & Terry; Sisters: Mary Ann, Brenda & Diana.  DeKalb Funeral Chapel and Cumberland Valley Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.




Violet Jo Evans

Violet Jo Evans age 84 of Smithville, passed away Thursday May 30, 2019 at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital. She was born October 25, 1934 to her parents, the late Shelie Charles and Chloe Judkins Webb. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jewell Edward Evans; 4 brothers, Junior Webb, Everett Webb, Porter Webb and Smith Webb; 2 sisters, Milus Barrett and Sally McClain. She was a Christian, worked at Genesco, Federal Mogul and on the farm in the fields. She and her late husband were the former owners of Town & Country Video. Above all, she was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She leaves to cherish so many wonderful memories, 2 daughters, Reta (Frankie) Caldwell of Smithville and Shelia (David) Schoenmann of Smithville; 4 grandchildren, Wayne (Mary Ann) Caldwell, Shannon (Mark) Stanick, April (Joel) Armstrong and Misty Dedman (Jose Lomas); great-grandchildren, Courtney and Cody Betsworth, Brettaney and Lane Green, Justin, Jordan and Jayden Stanick, Alexis and Brayde Baker, Brady and Brylee Hunt, Layla Dedman and Monica Lomas; 2 great-great-grandchildren, Colt Rains and Ember Betsworth; 1 sister, Mildred Turner of Smithville; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted 2 PM Sunday, June 2, 2019 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Jerry Braswell and Bro. Michael Hale officiating and burial will follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be on Saturday 2 PM until 8 PM and Sunday 10 AM until the time of the service at 2 PM. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
