Virginia Mai Pack Daniel

Virginia Mai Pack Daniel age 86, of Smithville, passed away Sunday night March 12, 2023 at NHC Healthcare in Smithville. She was born October 22, 1936 to her parents the late James Edgar and Callie Bain Adcock. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 2 husbands, Billy Jack Pack and Billy Daniel; 2 children, Douglas Pack and Regina Pack; 1 grandchild, Brian Pack; 5 brothers, J. B. Adcock, Clayton Adcock, Eston Adcock, Eldon Adcock, and WIlburn Adcock; sisters Myrtle McCormick, Willow Rybka, Shirley Adcock, Jewel Jones and Betty Jones. Ms. Virginia attended Smithville Church of God and worked at the Shirt Factory and Federal Mogul. She is survived by 2 sons, Billy Eudean (Tamie) Pack of Smithville, and Darrell Pack of Smithville; grandchildren, Misty Pack, Billie Johnson, Christopher Pack, and Derek (Cora) Pack; great-grandchildren, Makayla McCathern, Shayla Woods, Austin Pack, Melody Johnson, Vivian Pack, Everett Pack, and Douglas Pack; great-great-granddaughter, Zurionna Marie Phillips; sister Mildred Johnson of Smithville; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held 3 PM Wednesday March 15, 2023 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Chris Moore and Bro. Brian Jones officiating and burial to follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday March 15, 2023 at 10:AM until the time of the service at 3 PM. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.




Gary Wayne Adcock

Mr. Gary Wayne Adcock, age 74, of Smithville passed away Sunday, March 12, 2023, at NHC in Smithville. He was a retired roofer.

Mr. Adcock was born on August 7, 1948 to his parents, Haston and Rose Banks Adcock, who preceded him in death. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sons, Mickey Adcock and Jonathan Adcock; and 2 brothers, Ronnie Adcock and Danny Adcock.

Visitation with the Adcock family will be on Wednesday from 3-8pm and on Thursday from 9am until the service at 2pm. Burial will follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Holly (Dale) Bryant of Dowelltown; 2 grandchildren, Devin (Whitney) Thomas and Destiny (Travis) Pendergraff all of Smithville; 5 great-grandchildren, Rylan, Zayne, and Maddox Thomas, and Liliana and Copelyn Pendergraff all of Smithville; 2 brothers, Eddie (Kim) Adcock of Michigan, and Kenny Adcock of Arizona; nephews, Matt (Monica) Adcock and Anthony (Marissa) Adcock all of Arizona, and Kory (Emily) Adcock, and Kyle (Amy) Adcock all of Michigan.

Hazel Marie Sharp Griffith

Hazel Marie Sharp Griffith age 95, of Smithville passed away, Saturday March 11, 2023 at Bethesda Healthcare Center in Cookeville. She was born July 23, 1927 to her parents the late Alton Benton and Lillie Catherine Cooper. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husbands, Oakley S. Sharp, Herman Ledbetter, and Charles Griffith; son Roger Sharp; siblings, Ray Cooper, Clyde Cooper, Rillie Owens, and Roxie Atkins; half-brother, Raymond Carl Cooper. Ms. Hazel was a member of the Full Gospel Denomination Church and worked at the Shirt Factory. She is survived by son, Dennis (Annie) Sharp of Silver Point; grandson, Roger Sharp,JR.; great-son David Sharp; great-great-granddaughter, Aria Sharp; daughter-in-law, Treva Sharp. Funeral services will be held Tuesday March 14, 2023 at 6:00PM at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Dennis Sharp officiating with burial to be on Wednesday March 15, 2023 at 11:00AM at Green Acres Cemetery in Crossville. Visitation will be held Tuesday March 14, 2023 at 3:00PM till the time of the service at 6:00PM at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.




Dorothy Allen Stokes

Mrs. Dorothy Allen Stokes age 100 passed on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Cumberland Manor Nursing Home in Davidson County. She worked many years for Mr. & Mrs. Othel Smith as their housekeeper. She was a Methodist.

She was born on January 30, 1923 to her parents Everet & Magdalene Allen Martin who preceded her in death.
Visitation with the Stokes family will be on Friday, March 10 from 11:30 until service time at 1:00 at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home chapel. Bro. Glenn Evans will officiate, and burial will follow in Phillipi Cemetery.

Survivors include one daughter, Paula Chilsom, 2 grandsons, Stacy and Zachary Chilsom, 5 great grandchildren, Jiovanna, Barrett, Amanda, Kailand Chilsom and Ayona (Andrew) Green, 2 great great grandchildren, Ryder Chilsom and Angel Althea Brown, 1 sister, Ada Jackson, devoted niece and her children, Mary Bennett, Sharron Bennett, Hiawatha Bennett III, Floyd Bennett and DeNiece Bennett and great nephew, Anthony Bennett.

Mrs. Frankie Elaine Ferrell

Mrs. Frankie Elaine Ferrell age 68 passed away Monday, March 6, 2023 at her residence in Morrison. She was a homemaker.

She was born on October 11, 1954 to her parents, Frank and Annie Belle Craven Pinegar who preceded her in death. One daughter also preceded her in death, Tammy Alcontar.

Graveside services will be on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 2pm in Bluff Springs Cemetery in Warren county. Visitation will the Ferrell family will be on Saturday from 11 until 1:30 at Love-Cantrell Funeral home.

Survivors include her husband, Cecil Ferrell of Morrison, 3 sons, Tim Miller, Richard Learmonth and Jamie Golden, 4 daughters, Leanna Morales, Penny Pinegar, Erika Caunto and Patricia Luevano, step-daughter, Carlene Redmon all of McMinnville, 33 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 1 sister, Judy Burns and 1 brother, Eddie Pinegar both of McMinnville.

Ms. Aspasia Eleni Dakas

March 10, 2023

Ms. Aspasia Eleni Dakas, age 87, of Smithville passed on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital.

She was born on March 25, 1935 in Kyparissia, Greece to her parents, John and Eleni Barbayiannis, who preceded her in death.

The family will have visitation on Friday, March 17 from noon – 8pm, and the funeral service will be held at noon on Saturday, March 18 all at Wessels and Wilk Funeral Home in Troy, Michigan.

Local survivors include son, John Dakas of Smithville; one grandson, Andrew Dakas of Smithville; one granddaughter, Annabella Dakas of Smithville.
