Local Anglers Win Tournament

The DeKalb Fishing Team had a team tournament Saturday, September 21 and Brayden Martin & Avery South came in 1st place while Mason Winter & Logan O’Connor finished 2nd. Avery South also had the Big Fish at 3.15 lbs.

The kids had a great time on the water and enjoyed lunch after the weigh in. DCHS Cross Country Teams Compete at Warrior Invitational

The DCHS Cross Country teams traveled to Murfreesboro for the Warrior Invitational last weekend. The boys team finished up 8th out of 18 teams and one runner had a very stand out day. Kaylee Mullican shaved off almost 2 full minutes from her last race in the girls competition..

Lady Saints Soccer Team Wins on 8th Grade Night

The DeKalb Middle School Lady Saints Soccer Team defeated Jackson County 8-1 Tuesday evening on 8th grade night.

Scoring for the night included a hat trick by Kendall Davis, Caroline Tobitt (2), Laila Clark, Elvia Sanchez, Tatum Young

DeKalb Fishing Team Preparing for Angler Season

The DeKalb Fishing Team which is primarily made up of students grades 9-12 at DCHS is getting ready to begin its upcoming 2019-2020 season.

The program is made up of volunteers mostly parents with a passion for bass fishing. Jeff Taylor is this years Coach. The sponsors, coach, and team members are looking to grow the sport of recreational fishing and bring more awareness to the sport of fishing in our local community. The team will be following the TN B.A.S.S. High School Trail as well as having local tournaments for anglers on Center Hill Lake. They are looking forward to the upcoming season.

DeKalb Middle Girls Big Winner at Cross Country Warrior Invitational

The DeKalb Middle School Cross Country teams competed at the Warrior Invitational meet at Riverdale High School on Saturday September 14th with temperatures reaching 90

The girls team placed 1st over all out of a field of 15 teams and 122 runners. The field was tough as they edged out two of their toughest competitors, Mt. Juliet Middle and CSTHEA Patriots from Chattanooga.

Their top 5 runners all placed in the top 15 covering the 2 mile course.

With the heat of the day setting in the boys team gave a solid performance finishing 8th out of a field of 20 teams and 141 runners. Kaleb Spears finished in the top 20 earning a medal.

With temps around 90 degrees, the JV girls team placed 5th overall out of a field of 8 teams. Cadence Reynolds was the 1st girl runner to cross the line for DeKalb with at time of 18:55. finishing 23rd out of a field of 82 girls. Followed by:
