Tigers Lose to Monterey 8-4
The DCHS Tigers scored 4 runs in the 1st inning but could score no more and lost at Monterey Thursday 8 to 4.
The Tigers scored 4 runs on 4 hits and made 2 errors. Monterey scored 8 runs on 11 hits and made no errors.
Monterey scored 7 runs in the 1st inning and 1 in the 3rd inning
Isaac Knowles led things off on the mound for the Tigers. He allowed 4 runs on 2 hits and walked 2. Logan Cornelius and Avery South entered the game from the bullpen, throwing 3 innings and 1 inning respectively. Cornelius gave up 1 run on 3 hits and struck out 4. South surrendered 3 runs on 6 hits.
Derek Young had 2 hits and 2 RBI and Grayson Redmon had 2 hits.
Tigerettes Outslug Macon County 12-1
Madison Whitehead wasted no opportunities at the plate on Thursday, driving in 5 runs on 2 hits to lead the Tigerettes past Macon County 12-1 in Smithville.
Whitehead had a single in the 1st inning and a homerun in the 2nd inning.
DC posted 7 runs in the 1st inning enroute to the win. In addition to Whitehead, Megan Walker, Emme Colwell, Joni Robinson, and Jacey Hatfield each drove in runs during the inning.
The Tigerettes scored 12 runs on 12 hits and made 2 errors. Macon County scored 1 run on 4 hits and made 5 errors.
DeKalb County scored 7 runs in the 1st inning and 5 runs in the 2nd. Macon County’s only run came in the 4th inning.
Kenzie France pitched the Tigerettes to victory going 5 innings and allowing 4 hits and 1 run while striking out 3 and walking 1.
For the game Madison Whitehead had 2 hits and 5 RBI including the homerun, Jacey Hatfield with 3 hits and 1 RBI, Joni Robinson with 2 hits and 2 RBI, Emme Colwell 1 hit and 2 RBI, Megan Walker 2 hits and 1 RBI, and Kenzie France with 2 hits.
Tigers Swept by Watertown in Doubleheader
The DCHS Tigers were swept by Watertown in a double header Tuesday in Smithville losing 4 to 3 and 6 to 2.
Despite outhitting the Purple Tigers 8 to 5, DC lost 4 to 3 in the first game. The Tigers made 4 errors to 3 for the Purple Tigers.
Watertown took a 3 to 0 lead in the 1st inning. DC scored 2 runs in the 3rd . Watertown extended its lead 4 to 2 with a run in the 6th inning. The Tigers scored another run in the 7th but fell short losing 4 to 3.
Cody Antoniak took the loss for the Tigers. He went 6 innings, allowing 4 runs on 5 hits, striking out 4 and walking 1. Patrick Cantrell came in for 1 inning and struck out 1.
Antoniak also led the Tigers with 2 hits in 3 at bats. Skylar Sparks, Logan Cornelius, Luke Oliver, Daniel Puckett, and Isaac Knowles each had a hit and Derek Young had a hit and an RBI.
In the second game, Watertown prevailed 6 to 2 over the Tigers.
The Purple Tigers scored 6 runs on 6 hits and made no errors. DC scored 2 runs on 6 hits and made 7 errors.
The Tigers took a 1 to nothing lead in the 1st inning but Watertown erased it scoring 2 runs in the 2nd inning. The Tigers plated another run in the 3rd but Watertown scored 3 in the frame to grab a 5 to 2 advantage. Watertown added one more run in the 5th inning and went on to claim the victory.
Daniel Pucket was on the pitcher’s mound for the Tigers. He surrendered 5 runs on 4 hits over 3 innings, striking out 2 and walking 3. Avery South threw 3 innings in relief out of the bullpen and gave up 1 run on 2 hits
Grayson Redmon led DC with 2 hits in 4 at bats. Skylar Sparks, Derek Young, and Daniel Puckett each had a hit. Luke Oliver had a hit and an RBI.
Tigerettes Blow Out Watertown 18-5
The DCHS Tigerettes defeated Watertown in an 18 to 5 blowout Tuesday.
A five RBI day for Kenzie France and a grand slam homerun for Braya Murphy helped propel the Tigerettes to the victory
DeKalb County scored 18 runs on 18 hits and made 2 errors. Watertown scored 5 runs on 3 hits and made 4 errors.
The Tigerettes scored 6 runs in the 1st inning, 5 runs in the 2nd, 6 runs in the 3rd, and 1 run in the 5th inning. Watertown scored 3 runs in the 3rd inning and 2 runs in the 4th.
France drove in runs on a single in the 1st, a home run in the 3rd, and a walk in the 5th. Braya Murphy had a grand slam long ball in the 2nd inning.
Emme Colwell, the winning pitcher, allowed 3 hits and 5 runs over 5 innings, striking out 3. She walked 2.
For the game, Kenzie France had 2 hits and 5 RBI, Braya Murphy 3 hits and 4 RBI, Joni Robinson 3 hits and 3 RBI, Kennedy Polk 3 hits and 2 RBI, Madison Whitehead 2 hits and 2 RBI, Jacey Hatfield 1 hit and 1 RBI, Maddison Parsley 2 hits, and Megan Walker and Emme Colwell each with a hit.
Tigerettes Outlast Watertown 8-6
The DCHS Tigerettes outlasted Watertown for an 8 to 6 victory Wednesday in Smithville.
DC scored 8 runs on 11 hits and made 3 errors. Watertown scored 6 runs on 10 hits and made 3 errors.
The Tigerettes scored 3 runs in the 1st inning, 2 runs in the 3rd, 2 runs in the 5th and 1 run in the 6th inning. Watertown scored 1 run in the 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 7th innings and 2 runs in the 6th.
Kenzie France earned the win for the Tigerettes. She allowed 7 hits and 4 runs over 5 innings, striking out 1 and walking 3. Madison Whitehead and Emme Colwell entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out in relief. Whitehead gave up 2 runs on 3 hits and walked 3. Colwell recorded the last 3 outs to earn the save.
The Tigerettes launched 2 home runs on the day. Colwell had a homer in the 3 inning. Megan Walker smacked a dinger in the 5th inning.
For the game, Colwell, Walker, and Madison Whitehead each had 2 hits and 2 RBI, Kenzie France with 2 hits and an RBI, Maddison Parsley with a hit and an RBI, and Ellie Cripps and Jacey Hatfield each with a hit.
