Glenda Doris James age 69 of Liberty passed away Monday July 20, 2020 at Tri-Star Summit Medical Center. She was born to her parents the late Robert Bratten and Louise Gibbs Bailiff. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 2 children, Tara Frazier and Jeff Frazier; and the father of her children, Henry L. Frazier. Mrs. Doris was retired as the front desk coordinator at Tri-Star Summit Medical Center and a member of Dowelltown Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Ed James of Liberty; son, Steven Frazier and life partner (Robert Kopchak) of Virginia; sisters Ann (Garlon) Frazier of Liberty, and Bobbie Lanier of Mr. Juliet; brother, Robert (Kathy) Bailiff, Jr. of Alexandria. Funeral services will be Friday July 24, 2020 at 11:AM at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Dr. Chuck Groover officiating and burial to follow in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday July 23, 2020 at 4:PM till 7:PM and on Friday 10:AM till the time of the service at 11:AM. Due to the COVID-19, the Governors Executive Order 38 and Social Distancing Guidelines; Our pews in the Chapel are marked off to respect the guidelines and allow approximately 100-125 people for the service, we ask for the health and safety of everyone that you please exercise Social Distancing. The Funeral Home Lounge is Closed and NO Food or Drinks allowed in the funeral home. In addition to flowers the family ask donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.
James Arlin Anderson

85 year old James Arlin Anderson of Alexandria died Monday at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He was a member of the Mount Zion Baptist Church. The funeral will be Friday at 11:30 a.m. at Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Jarrett Randolph and Dan Mollette will officiate. Burial will be in Harpeth Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. until the service at 11:30 a.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Timothy Anderson and Louella Whitfield and sons, Donald Wayne Anderson, and James Anderson, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Alice Anderson of Alexandria and children Debra and Ray Meadows of Charlotte, Tim and Beverly Anderson of Smyrna, and Robin and David Ligon of Fairview. Eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and a sister Martha Koudelka of Mount Juliet. Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the Mount Zion Baptist Church
Ethel Christine Young Arnold

Mrs. Ethel Christine Young Arnold age 95 of Smithville, TN, died July 17,2020. She was born September 30, 1924, in DeKalb County, TN, was a homemaker, and a member of New Bildad Primitive Baptist Church. Ethel loved her family dearly, was a Christian lady, and enjoyed writing poetry. She was preceded in death by parents Waymon E. and Julia Ann Redmon Young, her husband Ralph Arnold, Jr., a son Jewel Reed Arnold, grandson Gary Robinson, sisters Ada L. Young, Stella Young, Mary Bell Robinson, Edith Evans, and Lillie May Lawson and her brothers Winfred, Felix, William G., Clarence M., Charlie, and James Ed Young.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law Ricky (Debbie) Arnold, daughter-in-law Christine Arnold, grandchildren Dennis (Gina) Arnold and Joseph (Christy) Arnold, great-grandchildren Adam, Jordan, Bryson, Sam, Yasmin, Lealon Arnold, and Kelah Curtis, great-great grandchild Gauge Pack, brother-in-law Cordell Chapman, and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Nell and Dean Snyder. Several nieces, nephews, family members and friends also survive.
Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday July 21, 2020 in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Elder Jeff Winfrey will officiate. Interment will follow at DeKalb Memorial Gardens in Smithville, TN. The Arnold Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to New Bildad Primitive Baptist Church or Mt. View Primitive Baptist Church.

Odis Dan Close

Mr. Odis Dan Close age 85 of McMinnville, TN, died Friday, July 10, 2020, at Gulf Breeze Hospital in Gulf Breeze, FL. He worked at Carrier Air Conditioning, was a farmer, and attended Gath Baptist Church. Mr. Close was preceded in death by parents Elmer Felix and Alta Lee Page Close, wife Marguerite Cope Close, and siblings Barbie Julia Spencer, Opal Lee Cantrell, Frances Edward Close, Mary Brown Demali, Drewsie Ellen Myers, Josephine Kania, and James Hoyte Close.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law Barry (Gwen) Close, granddaughter Kalli Close, grandsons Dan (Kelly) Close and Nick Close, great-granddaughter River, and siblings Doris Coggins Estes, Thomas Paul Close, and Marjorie Ann Patterson. Nieces, nephews, family members, and friends surviving.
Graveside service and interment will be at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, July 19, 2020, at DeKalb Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Smithville, TN. Elder Kenneth Brown will officiate. There will be no visitation at the funeral home as family and friends will meet at the cemetery.

Connie “Conrad” Stibil

Mr. Connie “Conrad” Stibil, age 75 of McMinnville passed away on Sunday night, July 12, 2020 at NHC in Smithville.
Conrad was born on January 9, 1945 in Cleveland, Ohio to his parents, the late John and Jennie Stibil. Also preceding him in death was his wife, Betty Sue Stibil and sister, Shirley Strekel. He worked as a truck driver for Southern Central.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at 2pm from the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday from 5-8pm and on Wednesday from 10 until the time of service at 2pm. Due to Covid-19 precautions, social distance measures will be observed. The funeral home is temporarily not accepting food in the kitchen facilities.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, John and Glenda Stibil of Smithville; one daughter, Connie Hollon of McMinnville; 4 Grandchildren, Leslie Hale of McMinnville, Savannah Stibil of Smithville, Crystal Stibil of Smithville, and Kachina Hollon of McMinnville; 4 Great-grandchildren, Makenzli Thomas, Chloe Myers, Bonnie Myers, and Bentlee Myers.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations please be given to the funeral home to help with burial expenses.
Calvin J. Sifford

Calvin J. Sifford age 63 of McMinnville and a longtime resident of Douglasville, GA, passed away peacefully, Thursday afternoon July 9, 2020 at his home. He was born July 20, 1956 in Bristol, TN to his parents, the late Bro. Carl Lynn and Frances Carolyn Hester Sifford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 brother, Steven “Pete” Sifford; sister-in-law, Sue Sifford and cousin, Johnny Wycuff. Calvin was an Insurance Underwriter and affiliated with Calvary Church of God in Douglasville, GA and New Life UPC in Smithville. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 41 years, June Sifford of McMinnville; 2 daughters, Jeana (Matthew) Lowe of Temple, GA and Tracey (Chad) Russell of Apollo Beach, FL; 7 grandchildren, Kirsten Stone, Grant Stone, Jeremiah Lowe, Carter Russell, Bryce Russell, Lexi Lowe and Brystol Russell; 2 brothers, Carl Sifford and Ron (Patsy) Sifford both of Smithville; mother-in-law, Louise Manning of Land O’ Lakes, FL; brother-in-law, Gary (Paula) Manning of Seffner, FL; sister-in-law, Nancy (Jimmy) Stephens of Wesley Chapel, FL; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11:AM Monday, July 13, 2020 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Dwayne Cornelius officiating. Visitation with the family will be Sunday 2 PM until 5 PM and Monday 9 AM until the time of the service at 11 AM.
