Jessica Beth Turner

Jessica Beth Turner age 38 of McMinnville, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018 at her residence. She was born October 5, 1980 in Smithville, to her parents, Bruce Turner and Rita Kay Waggoner Koby. She worked in healthcare and was a member of the Pomeroy Chapel Brethren In Christ Church. Jessica leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Garrett Turner of McMinnville; mother, Rita (Mike) Koby of Smithville; father, Bruce (Paula) Turner of Smithville; brother, Chris (Sonya) Turner of Murfreesboro; 3 step-brothers, Ethan (Kendra) Rutledge of Cleveland, TN, Nathan (Daniella) Koby of Watertown, Josh Koby of Chattanooga; 2 step-sisters, Savannah (Eric0 Stewart of McMinnville and Lexi Spry of Smithville; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. The family has honored Jessica’s request to be cremated. Memorial services celebrating Jessica’s life will be held 2M Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Pomeroy Chapel Brethren in Christ Church with Bro. Larry Steffee officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 1 PM until the time of the service at 2 PM. In addition to flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, in memory of Jessica. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.




Sharon Kay Paschal

Sharon Kay Paschal age 60 of Alexandria, died Saturday evening, July 13, 2019 at her residence. Born June 26, 1959, she was the daughter of Phyllis Anderson Paschal and the late James Carl “Chigger” Paschal. Sharon was a graduate of Dekalb County High School and attended the Baptist church. She was an assistant manager at Prichard’s Foods in Alexandria. Sharon is survived by her mother, Phyllis Paschal of Alexandria; sisters, Pam (Aaron) Huddleston of Alexandria and Lanee (Terry) Young of Mt. Juliet; brother, Ron (Tina) Paschal of Alexandria; nieces and nephews, Brandon (Lauren) Huddleston, Beth (Aaron) Eakes, Lincoln (Amy) Young, Whitney (Hunter) Wharton, Justin Paschal, Jessica (Sean) Leiser and several great nieces and nephews that she dearly loved. Funeral services 2 p.m. Monday, June 15, 2019 at Anderson Funeral Home with Bro. Doug Dillard and Steen Prichard officiating. Visitation 3-8 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. till service time on Monday. Teen Makes Juvenile Court Appearance on Child Rape Charges

A 16 year old boy charged with raping two young children made a recent appearance in Juvenile Court.

The teen is accused of molesting a 5 year old child on May 19 and a 4 year old on July 19 in restroom facilities at the fairgrounds in Alexandria.

The boy is now in state custody based on separate offenses against him in Putnam County and is undergoing a mental evaluation. His next juvenile court hearing is October 25 at which time the judge will learn the results of the mental evaluation and possibly whether the state will see to have him tried as an adult in the case.

The case was investigated by the Alexandria Police Department and DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department.

 




Tony Lynn Bailey

52 year old Tony Lynn Bailey of Alexandria, Tn. passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at his residence. Tony worked at Smithport Cabinet, and was a member of Sink Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Bailey is survived by his wife of 34 years Connie Bailey, Daughter Leslie Brooke Bailey, and her fiancé James Ellis Jr., Granddaughter Kayleigh Cheyanne Goodman, Parents Jerry, and Mary Bailey, Sister Melinda Tallent, Niece Sabra (Jeremy) Murphy, Nephews Chris (Brandi) Cantrell, Jordan Judkins, Great Nieces, and Nephews Braya, and Briahanna Murphy, Kaleb, and Dylan Cantrell, Father, and Mother In Law Joel, and Fran Adcock, Sister In Law Sherry, and Joe Judkins, Cousin Blake Goad. Funeral Services will be Friday July 26 at 2pm at the chapel of Anderson Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday 4-8pm, Thursday 2-8pm, Friday 10am till service time.
