69 year old Connie Ruth Armour of Smithville passed away at her residence Monday. She was a homemaker and a member of the Lower Helton The Baptist Church. The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Barry Whiteaker will officiate and burial will be in the Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. until the service at 1 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther Harvey and Juanita Green; husband, Jessie Armour; daughter, Sharon Thomason; sister, Bonnie Hooberry; and two grandsons, Bryan Thomason and Nicholas Reeder. Survivors include a son, John Armour; two daughters, Samanda Armour and Joanie Butler all of Smithville. Six grandchildren, Brittney and Nathan Gard, Nathan and Hannah Armour, Kelly Armour, Jonathan Armour, Linda Sue Bain all of Smithville, and Brandy Thomason of Manchester. Nine great grandchildren. Two brothers, Dennis (Denny) Harvey of Greenbrier and Phillip Green of Florida. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Donations may be made to Love-Cantrell Funeral Home in lieu of flowers in her memory to help with burial expenses.
Bobby Glover

Mr. Bobby Glover, age 77, of Gordonsville, TN, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2018 at his home.Born Bobby Alson Glover on May 28, 1940 to Herlon “Smiley” Glover, who died December 24, 2001 at the age of 85 and Virginia “Jenny” Smith Glover, who died April 23, 2012 at the age of 91.
He was also preceded in death by Son; Darryl Glover on June 30, 1968, Son-in-Law; Wayne Maynard on March 2, 2009, and Mother-in-Law; Estelle Harris on October 2, 2002.
He married Louise Harris on August 5, 1961. Bobby was saved on July 27, 1963 in a grass lot near his home. He was a member of The Macedonia The Baptist Church in Clubb Springs where he was the song leader for many years and a deacon for 49 years.
He was a 1958 graduate of Gordonsville High School and retired from the Gordonsville Zinc Mine after 30 years of employment.
Mr. Glover is survived by Wife of 56 years; Louise Harris Glover of Gordonsville, TN. Children; Sandra Maynard of Lancaster, TN, Gary (Laurie) Glover of Hickman, TN, Gregg (Lori) Glover of Buffalo Valley, TN. Grandchildren; Amanda (Tanner) Freese, Courtney Maynard, Trevor Glover, Peyton Glover, Connor Glover, Katie Glover, and Caroline Glover. Two Great-Grandchildren; Carlie Maynard and Charlotte Freese. Brother; Jerry (Evelyn) Glover of Algood, TN. Sister; Helen (Rick) Ezell of Lancaster, TN, and Dorothy (David) Elrod of Buffalo Valley, TN. Brother-in-Law; Bobby (Diane) Harris of Tiverton, RI, and Sister-in-Law; Betty Harris of Gallatin, TN.
Funeral Services for Mr. Glover are scheduled to be conducted from the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at 1PM with Bro. Tim Bennett and Bro. Gary McBride officiating. Interment will follow in the Gordonsville Cemetery with Bro. Frank Randolph officiating.
Visitation with the Glover family will be held at the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes on Monday from 1PM until 8PM and again on Tuesday from 10AM until the time of the service at 1PM.
Pallbearers: Tanner Freese, Trevor Glover, Peyton Glover, Connor Glover, Ken Herd, Stacy Herd, Roger Glover.
Honorary Pallbearers: Former coworkers of Jersey-Miniere Zinc.

Mrs. Gracie Lee Henley was born June 11, 1926 to the late James Thomas and Sarah Neal Curtis and went to her heavenly home on February 18, 2018. She was also preceded in death by Husband; Smith Henley, Brothers; Monroe Curtis, Johnny Hall Curtis, and Jimmy “Cowboy” Curtis, and Sisters; Mary Cason, Mattie Malone, and Gladys Driver.
Mrs. Gracie is survived by Brothers; Ralph Curtis of Alexandria, TN and Roy D. “Pig” Curtis and wife Linda of Watertown, TN, and Sister; Amy Johnson of Alexandria, TN. Brother-in-Law; Lawrence “Nub” Henley of Dowelltown, TN. Special Friend; Clyde Allen Ray.
Although Gracie had no kids, she was loved dearly by her many nieces and nephews who also survive.
She was a member of the Lower Helton The Baptist Church. Mrs. Gracie worked at the Dowelltown Shirt Factory.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Henley are scheduled to be conducted from the Chapel of Avant Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 2PM with Bro. Dennis Wood and Bro. Freddie Curtis officiating. Interment will follow in the New Hope Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be held at Avant Funeral Home on Tuesday from 3PM until 8PM and again on Wednesday from 11AM until the time of the service at 2PM.

Lenorea Amanda Mullinax passed away on February 16, 2018 at age 33. The family will be receiving friends at Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon TN, on Monday from 4-8 p.m. and on Tuesday from noon until the service. The Funeral Service, conducted by Brother Josh Brown, is 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 20, 2018 in the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home. Interment in Cedar Grove Cemetery will follow the service. Family will serve as Pallbearers.Mrs. Mullinax was a Certified Nursing Assistant and a member of Salem Baptist Church. She loved crafting, singing, and writing songs. She is survived by husband Wesley Mullinax, daughter Krissy Michelle Mullinax, father Jerry (Nancy) Heady, mother Melinda Harrison, brother Daniel Lee Heady, step-brother Will (Chasie) Graham, step-sister Tammy (Josh) Keel, grand-parents Georgia Louise Heady Gill and Jack Lee Heady, in-laws Kenneth and Carolyn Mullinax, and numerous loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is preceded in death by grandparents Erna Virginia and Herbert James Henry.

Jerry Lendon Winfrey

Jerry Lendon Winfrey, age 75, passed away at his home in Smithville, TN on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 of an apparent heart attack. A native of DeKalb County, he was born February 10, 1942 to the late Lucas and Ruth Moss Winfrey. Mr. Winfrey obtained an associate in arts degree from Cumberland University in 1962 and studied at Austin Peay State College where he received a BS degree in 1964 and a Master of Arts in Education in 1965. In addition, Jerry had one year of advanced studies beyond the Master degree, some of which included several visits to South America with special emphasis on Ecuador and Peru. Jerry’s professional career focused on teaching at the elementary level, all of which was in the DeKalb County School System except for one semester in the Hampton City School System, in Hampton, VA in 1966. After teaching many fourth-grade students over his 32 years of service, Mr. Winfrey retired May 22, 1999. Jerry loved teaching, but he also enjoyed several other activities including collecting antiques and glassware, conducting research on family history with special emphasis on the Winfrey and Moss families, researching and documentingthe history of the First United Methodist Church in Smithville, and discussing or debating political issues. He was a member of the Smithville First United Methodist Church but also attended the Unitarian Universalist Church in Cookeville with his friend and former vicar, Rev. Mark Pafford. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents (Sidney Brooks and Era Driver Winfrey and Charlie Lee and Ada Foster Moss), Aunts and Uncles. He is survived by several cousins and many special friends. Jerry’s wishes were to be cremated and that a graveside memorial service be held at the Winfrey family section of the Whorton Springs Cemetery at 1:30 PM Sunday, February 18, 2018 with Bro. Mark Pafford officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to either the Justin Potter Library (particularly the Genealogy Room) or the Smithville First Methodist Church Building Fund in memory of Mr. Winfrey. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Lucion Nokes

65 year old Lucion Nokes of Temperance Hall passed away Friday at his residence. Nokes was a member of the Temperance Hall Pentecostal Church and a retired factory worker. The funeral will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Chris McMillen and Bill Fowler will officiate and burial will be in the Tubbs Cemetery in Temperance Hall. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. until the service at 3:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Nayomia Allen Nokes. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Mary Ray Nokes; two children, Jeffery and Brandy Nokes, and Penny and Randy Bouldin all of Temperance Hall. Five grandchildren, Justin Nokes and Sarah Branch of Elmwood, Malayna Nokes, Jake Nokes, and Will Bouldin all of Temperance Hall and Dustin and Michelle Bouldin of Clarksville. Two great grandchildren, Jase Nokes and Ronan Bouldin. Love Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. In addition to flowers, make donations to CURE PSP.
