Mr. Ronald Hugh Rogers age 66 of Smithville, passed away Monday morning May 28, 2018 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro. He was born May 30, 1951 in Livingston to his parents, the late Hugh and Ailene McAlpin Rogers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Mildred Palk. Mr. Rogers was the Assistant UT Extension Agent having worked for 30 years starting in Clay County, TN in 1979 and then moved to DeKalb County in 1986 and worked until his retirement in 2009. Ron had a love for children and youth and worked with 4-H kids, Master Gardener Program, 4-H Congress, 4-H Chicken and Sheep Program, Regional and State competitions and various judging, worked 4-H camp each year, he was a member of the 911 board He enjoyed seeing kids excel and succeed. Mr. Rogers appreciated his great friendship and longtime working relationship with Steve Officer and the people of DeKalb County. Ron loved his cats and gardening. Ron was a faithful member of the Smithville Church of Christ having attended faithfully until his health kept him from being able to go. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda M. Rogers of Smithville; special cousin, Johnny Cole and Family of Rockwood; sisters-in-law, Louise (Leonard) Copeland and Family of Cookeville and Mrs. Lisa Medley and Family of Cookeville; brother-in-law, Larry (June) Harvey and Family of Allons, TN; special friends, John Bassinger, Steve Officer, Dale & Pam Ball, Wallace & Carolyn Caldwell and Brenda Shuttleworth and many other special friends, cousins and family members. Funeral services will be conducted 11AM Thursday, May 31, 2018 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Dan Gulley officiating and John Bassinger, Sarah Ferrell and Heather Pinegar Young will share thoughts and memories of Mr. Rogers and burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Livingston. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. Ron’s request was for donations to be made to either the DeKalb County 4-H, DeKalb Animal Coalition, Smithville Church of Christ or Northside Church of Christ, in his memory. Mrs. Linda had asked that no flowers be sent and that no food be brought. Linda would love to express her appreciation to Clint Hall, the nurses and staff of NHC HealthCare for the care and compassion shown to Ron during the last 3 1/2 years, to U-Carts, DeKalb Ambulance Service, Dr. Wall and Dr. Dingle, St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital and ER nurses and staff. There are no words to say how grateful and thankful she is to each and everyone of you. May God richly bless you for your dedication and service that you have provided to Ronnie. Tyree Henegar Smith, age 68, a McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County native was born November 8, 1949 and died May 26, 2018 at his residence following an extended illness.
He was a retired teacher with Warren County School Systems, Pastor for Westside Baptist Church, and son of the late Jack Coleman and Marjorie Henegar Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Jim Smith.
Mr. Smith was married January 10, 1970 to Joyce Smith, who survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Nathan & Tesh Sims Smith of McMinnville; Alan & Kristina Day Smith of McMinnville; Ryan & Candace Dunn Smith of McMinnville; eight grandchildren, Crosley, Kaylee, Jackson, Elijah, Elsa, Addison, Isaac & Sophie; two brothers and sisters-in-Law, Jack and Linda Smith, Jr. of Lexington, KY & Karl and Pam Smith of Lexington, KY; sister, Keely Hogan of Nolensville, TN; sister-in-Law, Joye Womack Smith of Lexington, KY; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, May 31, 2018 in High’s Chapel with Nathan Smith, Alan Smith & Ryan Smith to officiate. Interment will follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens in Smithville, TN. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, and 10:00 a.m. Thursday until the time of service at High’s.

Alice Jewel Jones Wiser age 70 of McMinnville passed away Saturday morning, May 26, 2018 at her residence. She was born June 25, 1947 to her parents, the late Earby and Mable Turner Jones. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 4 sisters, Aletha Adcock, Thelma Earmon, Violet Jones and Jeanette Redmon. Jewel attended Newtown The Baptist Church and was retired from the Warren County School System as a Cafeteria Worker. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 53 years, Jerry Wiser of McMinnville; 2 daughters, Jill (Stan) Phillips of McMinnville and Janet (Rick) Phillips of McMinnville; 4 grandchildren, Allison (Corey) Page, Axie (Josh) Vaughn, Tyler Phillips and finance, Mikayla Farley, Caitlyn “Katie” Phillips; 1 great-grandson, Emerson Vaughn; 1 sister, Rebecca Ervin of Smithville; special cousin, Phyllis Martin of McMinnville; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted 2 PM Monday, May 28, 2018 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bros. Garry McBride and Cody Holman officiating and burial will follow in Jefferson Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Sunday 12 Noon until 8 PM and Monday 10 AM until the time of the service at 2 PM. Billie Sue Hayes Foutch age 82 of Liberty, died Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at the Webb House in Smithville. Born June 18, 1935 in Dekalb County, she was the daughter of the late Homer and Pauline Harvey Hayes and was preceded in death by her husband, Glen “Spark” Foutch in 2005 and a nephew, Jim Hayes. Billie was a 1953 graduate of Liberty High School and a member of Prosperity Baptist Church. She is survived by sisters and brother, Lounette Judkins of McMinnville, James (Nettie) Hayes of Old Hickory, Marie Knowles of Hendersonville, Joyce (Johnny) O’Conner of Donelson, Wanda (Ted) Ray of Liberty, Sarah (Ronnie) Kent of Smithville; niece, Julie Kent; nephews, Jason Ray, Mark Kent, Todd Kent and other nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services 2 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2018 at Prosperity Baptist Church with Bro. David Moody and Bro. Thurman Seber officiating. Visitation 3-8 p.m. Thursday at Prosperity Baptist Church and 11 a.m. till service time on Friday. Pallbearers, Jason Ray, Mark and Todd Kent, Ricky Barrett, Teddy Mathis. Greg Merterth Byford

Greg Merterth Byford, age 45, of Woodbury passed away Friday, May 25, 2018 at his home. He was a native of Cannon Co.
Survivors include his daughter, Myranda Byford; Son, Lucas Byford; Mother, Eunice Ferrell Byford; Sister, Ella (Mike) Green; Brother, Shane Byford, all of Woodbury; Special Friends, David Taylor, Nisey Maynard, & Charles Ferrell. Several nieces & nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alf Merterth “Mert” Byford.
Mr. Byford was a member of the Church of Christ and was a self-employed Mechanic. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and being with family and friends.
Funeral Services will be 4 PM Sunday, May 27, 2018 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Leonard Herman officiating. Interment will follow at Byford Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 11 AM to 9 PM Saturday, May 26, 2018 at the funeral home.

79 year old Joe Judkins of Lebanon passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2018. He is preceded in death by parents, James and Bessie Judkins; son, Scott Judkins; brothers, Jimmy, Dan, and Cotton Judkins. He is survived by wife of 57 years, Martha Judkins; children, Steve (Carlene) Judkins, Sandy (Hank) Watkins, Susan (Eric) Carr, and Shane (Brittany) Judkins; brother, Robert Judkins; sister, Joyce (Jerry) Bradshaw; grandchildren, Jennifer (Anthony Byrd) Judkins, Kristin (Drew Mason) Judkins, Matthew (Maggie) Watkins, and Addy Collins; and great-grandchildren, Hannah Pratt and Liam Scott Mason. Mr. Judkins was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and worked for Martha White/Shenandoah Mills for 42 years. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 2 p.m. in the Partlow Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. and again on Wednesday from 12 noon until the funeral. Interment, Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Keith, Adam and Jerry Judkins, Greg and Brandon Allison, and Chris Bly. Honorary pallbearers, Hank Watkins, Eric Carr, Drew Mason, and Matthew Watkins.
