Eula Mai Presley

Eula Mai Presley, 87 years old of McMinnville, TN went on to meet the Lord at her home on May 21, 2023.

Eula Mai Presley was born on May 20, 1936 in Cannon County to Bob and Minnie Bell Johnson.

Visitation with the Presley family will be on Wednesday from 4-8pm, and on Thursday from 10am until the time of the service at 11am. Burial will follow in DeKalb Cemetery.

Eula Presley was a devoted and loving wife to Robert Jewell Presley for 67 years. They were married on August 4, 1951, and together they had nine children. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She raised her children to love the Lord.

She was a faithful member of People’s Pentecost Church of Smithville where she served alongside her husband as the first lady. Her dedication and walk with the Lord was a great example to her children and to others. She greatly believed in the power of prayer and would call upon the Name of the Lord day and night interceding for others.

Eula loved to bake and cook. Her grandchildren loved her pancakes, and she is known for her homemade coconut cakes and fried pies! She often baked cakes as an appreciation of what other kind deeds people did for her.

Eula had a green thumb when it came to gardening. She loved to work in her yard and plant beautiful flowers, shrubs, and trees. She would walk around in her yard telling everyone the names of everything and who bought it for her. She also loved high rides at amusement parks and loved to have fun with her family.

Mrs. Presley is survived by her children, Phillis (James Brown) of Sparta, Jackie Leicester of NC, Glenda (Thomas Theiss) of McMinnville, Evie (Jeff Miller) of Madison, OH, Pamela of McMinnville, Teresa (Tim Simmons) of Fort Mill, SC, and Babbie (Bill Davis) of McMinnville. Mrs. Presley has 24 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, and 19 great, great grandchildren. She is also survived by 1 sister, Christine Murphy of Liberty, and one brother Toy Lawson of Liberty.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Minnie Bell Johnson; husband, Robert Jewell Presley; daughter, Patsy Ann Rachel; her son, Robert Dwayne Presley; grandsons, Robert Jewell Presley, and Richard Justin Presley; 4 brothers and 4 sisters.

Judy Adcock

Ms. Judy Adcock, age 81, of Dowelltown passed away at her residence on Monday, May 22, 2023.

She was a Christian and a retired nurse.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Melford Evans; 2 sons, Jeffrey Ferry and Michael Ferry Adcock; 2 daughters, Michelle Ferry and Patrice Ferry.

The family has honored Ms. Adcock’s wishes to be cremated.

Ms. Adcock is survived by 1 daughter, Holly (Dale) Bryant of Dowelltown; 1 son, Leonard Ferry of Michigan; 9 grandchildren, Devin (Whitney) Thomas and Destiny (Travis) Pendergraff all of Smithville; Lenny Ferry, Derak Ferry, Courtney Ferry, Taylor Chapman, Jourdon Chapman, Mickinze Chapman, and Robert Chapman all of Michigan; several great-grandchildren; special friend and caregiver, Tammy McDonald; special nurses, Shanda and Kailee.

Jean Ann Judkins Paris

Mrs. Jean Ann Judkins Paris, age 58, of McMinnville, TN, died Thursday, May 18, 2023. She was born October 21, 1964, in Smithville, TN, was a homemaker, and was of the Primitive Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by parents Gene Judkins and Emma Bell Redmon Cantrell, step-father Alton Morgan Cantrell, sister Brenda Johnson, and brother James Judkins.

Survivors include her husband Allan E. Paris, daughter Valerie (A.J.) Terrasi, son Weston (Angela) Lance, step-son Jarrett Paris, bonus daughter Jasmine (Ryan) Kilgore, grandchildren Addie Terrasi, Lily Terrasi, Waylon Lance, and bonus granddaughter Olivia Kilgore, sister Rita (Pat) Ray, brother Ricky (Shelia) Judkins, and sister-in-law Carolyn Judkins. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family members, and friends also survive.

Funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, May 21, 2023, in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Elder Ricky Arnold and Elder Joseph Arnold will officiate. Interment will follow at Blues Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and again Sunday from 10:00 A.M. until 3:00 P.M. at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.

Todd Kyle Testerman

May 18, 2023

Todd Kyle Testerman age 60 of Dowelltown, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro.  He was born January 19, 1963, to his parents Judith Elizabeth Steup and the late Carl Alfred Testerman.  In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Emma Testerman, Robert and Mary Steup.  Todd was a member of the Pisgah United Methodist Church.  He worked in sales with Praxair/Linde Company, where he was the ultimate salesman.  A quote from Todd, “There are two days in a year that nothing can be done, yesterday and tomorrow.  So today is the right day to believe in your abilities.”  He loved the great outdoors.  Todd lived every day to the fullest and never met a stranger.  He was an uncle and friend to so many and his friends span from Tennessee, Arkansas, South Carolina and beyond.  Proverbs 18:24, A man that hath friends must show himself friendly, that was Todd.  He leaves to cherish many wonderful memories, his mother, Judith Elizabeth Testerman of Knoxville; brother, Scott (Heather) Testerman of Knoxville; 2 sisters, Kimberlee Testerman (Larry) Mabe of Knoxville, Tracey Testerman Spencer of Knoxville; nieces and nephews, Hadley and Kylee Testerman of Knoxville, Cameron Mabe of Mt. Juliet, Alyssa Pittman of Durham, NC, and Austin Sweet of Chattanooga; best friends of 38 years, Don and Penny Bolton of Murfreesboro; Godfather, Bill Martin of Georgia and a host of extended family and friends. Funeral services honoring Todd’s life will be held 7 PM Wednesday evening May 24, 2023 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. John Hille officiating and burial will be at the Testerman-Livesay Cemetery in Kyles Ford, TN at 1 PM Thursday, May 25, 2023.  Visitation will be Wednesday 4 PM until the time of the service at 7 PM at DeKalb Funeral Chapel.  In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to either the Alive Hospice of Murfreesboro or the Sarah Cannon Pancreatic Research Hospital, and those donations may be made at the funeral home.  DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.




Billie Braswell Simpson

Billie Braswell Simpson age 85, of Smithville passed away Friday, May 12, 2023 at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro. She was born September 25, 1937 to her parents, the late Edgar and Ora Hale Anderson; In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husbands, Franklin Braswell, George Bing, Ray Simpson; brothers, Clifton Melton and Charles Anderson; sister, Irene Roberts. Ms. Billie was member of New Life United Pentecostal Church and worked in Landscaping and was a Homemaker. She is survived by 3 children, Dallas (Beth) Braswell of Murfreesboro, Anita Braswell of Smithville, and Michelle (Shane) Walker of Smithville; 5 grandchildren, Stacey Wood and Kelly Chapman of Smithville, Chloe Braswell of Cookeville, Thomas Braswell and Michael Braswell of Murfreesboro; 6 great-grandchildren also survive; brother, E L (Brenda) Anderson of Liberty; sister, Fay Armstrong of Woodbury. Funeral service will be 1:PM Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Dwayne Cornelius, Bro. Keith Huling and Dallas Braswell officiating and burial to follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday 4:PM until 7:PM and on Tuesday 10:AM until the time of the service at 1:PM. Montie Estes

Mrs. Montie Spencer Estes, age 93, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at St. Thomas Midtown in Nashville. She passed peacefully and during her week of the year – between her birthday, May 7, 1930 and Mother’s Day. She grew up in a rather nomadic fashion moving around a lot with her parents from places as varied as Indian Creek, Dismal Hollow, Dibrell, and Akron, Ohio. She had an unforgettable smile.

She was a Christian and a member of Smithville First Baptist Church. First and foremost she was a mother and Nannie, then a homemaker and secretary for the Board of Education, Superintendent.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Ocie Spencer, husband, Bass Estes, brother, Jairon Spencer and sister, Marjorie Spencer Terrell.

The family has chosen to have a graveside service on Monday, May 15, at 2:00 pm at DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Friends and family are invited to attend.

Mrs. Estes is survived by 2 sons, Mark Wallace of Smithville and Pat Wallace of Smithville. 2 grandsons, Spencer and McCullough Wallace of Murfreesboro, 2 granddaughters, Jessica Wallace and Julie (Brian) Walker of Nashville and 1 great grandson, Hudson Alexander Walker of Nashville.
