David Edward Page age 68 of Watertown, died Tuesday morning, April 27, 2021 at Wilson Manor in Lebanon. Born Sept. 25, 1952 in Camp Carson, CO, he was the son of Katie Ruth Page and the late Willis Edward Page and was preceded in death by his sister, Marcia Page. David served in the Army National Guard and was a longtime employee of the Singer Sewing Machine Co. He is survived by his daughters, Magan (Sonny) Mask and Kris Granstaff both of Watertown; grandchildren, Lucas and Cody Paris and Amber and Aiden Granstaff; mother, Katie Ruth Page of Alexandria; brother, Danny Page of Alexandria; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, April 30, 2021 at Hunter Funeral Home in Watertown with Bro. David Lawson officiating. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Friday. Glenda Watson

Glenda Watson, age 55, of Petersburg, TN, passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at her residence. She was born in Smithville, TN on October 5, 1965.

Mrs. Watson was preceded in death by her grandparents: Virgie Grissim, Alfred Grissim, Della (Charles) Poston, and Arnel Murphy; aunt: Minnie Poss and uncles: William Murphy and Earnest Murphy, all of Smithville, TN.

Mrs. Watson is survived by her husband: Thomas Watson of Petersburg, TN; three daughters: Gwendolyn Ponder of Smithville, TN, Devin (Josh) Wahlmeier of Flintville, TN and Ashley May of Flintville, TN; one son: Chris (Julie) Ponder of Smithville, TN; father: Wayne (Cathy) Grissim of Coldwater, MI; mother: Frances (George) Fincher of McMinnville,TN; Mother-in-law Ann Watson; two sisters: Sonia (Darryl) Talley of Smyrna, TN and Gina (Jerry) Moss of Smyrna, TN; one brother: Wayne (Su) Grissim, Jr. of South Korea; one step-brother: George Fincher, Jr. of Beersheba Springs, TN; 14 grandchildren: Haley and Hope Hendrixson, Madison, Brooklyn, Ricky, Gracelynn, Jace and Brinson Ponder, Ellie Moss, Hayden Feltman, Matthew, Aaliyah and Joshua Jr. Wahlmeier, and Peyton May;(5)Nieces Donann (Shane) Profitt (Florida),Zara Melton (Smithville),Adrianna(Makayla) Moss-Shawver (M’boro),Lauren (Grant) Winfree (Alabama),Maddie Moss (Knoxville);(3) Nephews A.J. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Bro. Wilburn Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Prospect Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home.




Mainell Malone Foutch

April 29, 2021

Mainell Malone Foutch, 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 28, 2021. She was born on April 25, 1938 to the late Eliga and Nonnie Moore Malone. Mainell was preceded in death by brothers, Frank, Hubert and Jerry Malone and sister, Alma Dean Henley.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Joe Truitt Foutch; children Danny Foutch (Lisa), Dr. David Foutch (Kim) and Jonathan Foutch (Laura); grandchildren, Katherine Foutch Layman (Matthew), Dr. Jordan Foutch (Jessica), Kelsey Foutch Pyles (Brandon), Dr. Hunter Foutch, Alexandria Foutch Smith (Kyle), Elijah Foutch and great grandchildren, Mia Foutch, Miah Johnson, Rebecca and Caroline Layman, and Knox Pyles. She is also survived by sisters, Roberta Robinson and Ann Campbell and brothers, Tommy and Eddie Malone.

Mainell was retired from Farmers Cooperative. During her retirement, she loved spending time with her family, preparing Sunday family lunch and cheering on the Tennessee Lady Vols. She was a loyal member of Prosperity Baptist Church. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will always be remembered for her warmth, caring, and selflessness. She will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Prosperity Baptist Church with Brother Mark Stinnett officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 4-8 p.m. and Saturday at 11:00 a.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Prosperity Cemetery. Thurman Odell Hutson

Mr. Thurman Odell Hutson, age 72 of Alexandria, TN passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.

Thurman was born on October 14, 1948 in Sparta, TN to his parents, the late Paul & Willie Huff Hutson. Also preceding him in death is his wife, Thelma Ann Hutson and his siblings, Samuel Hutson, Kathy Hellum & Wanda Williams. Thurman was better known in DeKalb County as “Cowboy”, and as “Cisco” in White County where he was born & raised. He had recently retired as a Maintenance Man having worked in the DeKalb County Courthouse and was formerly the owner/operator of “Ye Ole Cobbler Shoppe” in Smithville. He was also an avid leather craftsman and loved horses. Thurman was a member of the Temple Missionary Baptist Church.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 1pm in the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Shannon Cantrell will officiate and burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Sparta with Bro. Gerald England officiating at the graveside. Visitation with the family will be on Friday from 4-8pm and on Saturday from 9am until the service time at 1pm. Due to Covid-19 precautions, we are not accepting food in the kitchen at this time.

Survivors include a Son, Terry (Robin) Hutson of Dunlap, TN. 2 Daughters, Tracey Brooks (Brian Nelson) of Smithville, TN & Tabatha Castro (Christopher Perry) of Fayettville, TN. 13 Grandchildren, Teresa Wilson, Marisa Hutson, Joshua Hutson, Rachel Hutson, Leeah Moffitt, Lili Moffitt, Kaden Moffitt, Jace Moffitt, Landry Moffitt, Annamarie Walker, Steve Walker, Jr., Michelle Chapman, Brandon Williams & Anna Perry. 18 Great Grandchildren and 1 on the way. Betty S. Coons age 80, passed away Monday afternoon, April 26, 2021 at the Uplands Village Wellness Center in Pleasant Hill, TN. She was born June17, 1940 to her parents, the late Will and Viola Wilburn Ledford. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 5 sisters and 2 brothers. Ms. Coons was a Freewill Baptist and worked over 30 years in the office at Frigidaire/ Electrolux. She is survived by a sister, Annie (Dennis) Sharp of Silver Point; several nieces and nephews also survive. Graveside services and interment will be held 1 PM Friday, April 30, 2021 at DeKalb Cemetery with Bro. Wayne Redmon officiating. There will be not be any services or visitation held at the funeral home, family and friends will meet at the cemetery at 1 PM. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.




Sue Carol Hughes

Sue Carol Hughes age 70 of Smithville went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 26, 2021 at the St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro. She was born January 25, 1951 to her parents, the late Quentin and Frances Pack Caplinger. Sue was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church, worked at Moog for 13 years and Burger Shake for many years with her parents. The homegoing of Sue, is definitely true of the saying “Earth’s loss is Heavens gain.” She is survived by her son, Ryan Hughes (Tania Raglin) of Smithville; 2 grandchildren Brady (Alli) Hughes of Smithville and McKenna Hughes of Sparta; brother, Gary Caplinger (Regina Kent) of Smithville; niece, Westin Caplinger of Silver Point and special friend, Kathy Brown Vanatta of Smithville. Funeral services will be 3 PM Friday, April 30, 2021 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Gary Caplinger and Randy Vaughn officiating and burial will follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be on Thursday 3 PM until 7 PM and Friday 10:AM until the time of the service at 3 PM. Due to COVID-19, we ask for the health and safety of everyone that you please exercise social distancing. The pews in the chapel are marked off to respect these guidelines.
